AXIS P1387 — Indoor 5 MP box camera with lens

5 MP up to 60 fps2.8–13 mm lens includedLightfinder 2.0PoE or 10–28 V DC

The AXIS P1387 (02735-001) is an indoor 5 MP box camera with a replaceable 2.8–13 mm CS-mount lens in the box. The 4:3 image (2592×1944) gives more height in the frame than 1080p, and the lens reaches 24° for a distant door or till. It runs up to 50/60 fps without WDR, and powers from one PoE Class 3 port or 10–28 V DC.

Compatibility — check before buying:
Indoor box camera. It has no environmental (IP/IK) rating — outdoors it needs a separate Axis housing, or order the outdoor version instead. There is no built-in IR, so a dark scene needs lighting or an external IR illuminator. A table/wall stand is in the box; wall or ceiling brackets are not. Not sure it fits your site? Send us the mounting position, distance to the target and how the camera is powered, and we check it before you order.

Best For

✓ Receptions, lobbies and cash desks
✓ Behind glass: shop windows and counters
✓ Warehouses and production halls (indoor)
✓ Integrations with access control or alarms
✓ Projects that may need a different lens later
✓ Axis Camera Station or ONVIF VMS installs

Key Features

5 MP with a 2.8–13 mm lens
2592×1944 in 4:3 or 2592×1458 in 16:9, 112° to 24° horizontal with remote focus. Up to 50/60 fps without WDR, 25/30 fps with Forensic WDR.

Replaceable CS-mount optics
The supplied lens is CS-mount and replaceable: swap it for a longer lens or a fast F0.9 low-light lens later if the scene changes. P-Iris keeps depth of field and exposure under control.

AI analytics and Lightfinder 2.0
AXIS Object Analytics classifies people and vehicles, with Scene Metadata, Image Health Analytics, Live Privacy Shield and Video Motion Detection included. Forensic WDR (up to 120 dB) and Lightfinder 2.0 handle backlight and low light.

Built for integration
Two alarm inputs, two outputs, RS485/RS422, audio input, PoE or 10–28 V DC power and Axis Edge Vault security make it easy to tie into access control, barriers or PTZ-style workflows.

Frequently Asked Questions

P1387 or P1388?
The P1387 is 5 MP with a 2.8–13 mm lens that zooms to 24° — better when the target is further away. The P1388 (02737-001) is 4K/8 MP on a bigger 1/1.8" sensor with a 3.9–10 mm lens that stops at 46° — better for wide scenes.
Can I use it outdoors?
Not on its own — it has no IP rating. Use an Axis outdoor housing, or the outdoor P1387-LE, which is a separate product.
What else do I need to get it recording?
A PoE switch or injector that can deliver PoE Class 3 (max 11.73 W), a network cable, and something to record to — a microSD card in the camera for edge recording, an Axis Camera Station or ONVIF-compatible VMS/NVR, or a NAS. None of these are in the box. Tell us how many cameras and how many days of footage you need and we size the switch and storage with you.
What warranty and support do I get in Cyprus?
Singular gives a direct 1-year warranty and handles the first contact locally in Limassol. Axis publishes a 5-year warranty on this model, and for the remaining years we assist you with the Axis process. Configuration questions (streams, analytics, VMS integration) can come straight to us.
Singular Expert Insight
The P1387 is the middle of the indoor P13 range: more pixels than the P1385 (02733-001), longer reach than the 4K P1388 (02737-001). The P1387-B is the same camera without a lens — 02735-001 includes it. For the rest of the system, our PoE switches are listed with per-port power budgets, and surveillance hard drives cover NVR recording; other options are in IP cameras.

Buyer’s Guide

Buy it if

You want an indoor 5 MP box camera with a lens that reaches 24°, alarm I/O, RS485 and a built-in mic, on PoE Class 3 or DC.

Skip it if

It must go outdoors without a housing, or you need built-in IR.

Also consider

AXIS P1388 (02737-001) for 4K; AXIS P1385 (02733-001) for 2 MP at lower cost.
