The AXIS P3905-R Mk III M12 (part number 02671-001) is a compact 2-megapixel onboard dome camera made for passenger vehicles — buses, trains and trams. Axis gives it a 1/2.9″ sensor with Lightfinder, a 3.6 mm M12 lens covering 88° horizontally, Forensic WDR up to 120 dB and railway approvals including EN 50155 and EN 45545-2, in a 241 g dome only 50 mm high. This version has a rugged M12 D-coded connector — the vehicle-industry standard that stays locked under vibration.

Compatibility — check before buying:
M12 connector, not RJ45. The camera ends in an M12 D-coded female socket with a locking nut, so you need a vehicle cable with an M12 D-coded plug — a standard patch cable will not fit. The same camera with RJ45 is 02670-001. No cable and no mount in the box. No IR and no audio are listed for this model — it relies on cabin lighting and Lightfinder. It powers from PoE (Class 1). What is the difference between 02671-001 and 02670-001?
Only the connector. 02671-001 has a locking M12 D-coded socket for vehicle wiring; 02670-001 has an RJ45 male plug. Lens, sensor and ratings are identical. This page is the M12 version.
Can I use it in a building?
Yes, it works like any PoE network camera, but it is designed for vehicles: 2MP, no IR and a compact dome. For a building, a standard Axis dome usually gives more for the money — ask us.
Which recorder or video software does it work with?
Axis cameras are set up through their web interface and record to a microSD card, a NAS, AXIS Camera Station or a third-party video management system. Recorder support varies by brand and firmware, so tell us the NVR or VMS you run and we confirm this exact model before you order.
