AXIS Surveillance Hard Drive — 6 TB
6 TB3.5″ SATA7200 rpm24/7 surveillance
The AXIS Surveillance Hard Drive 6 TB (part number 01859-001) is a 3.5″ SATA hard drive that AXIS describes as designed and tested for 24/7 video surveillance. It spins at 7200 rpm, runs from 0 to 70 °C and is sold by AXIS as a spare or expansion drive for its own AXIS Camera Station recorders. AXIS lists it for the AXIS Camera Station S2212 Mk II and S2224 Mk II (and the discontinued S2212 and S2224). In practice it is the drive to order when you add storage to one of these recorders or replace a failed disk, so the recorder keeps running with the drive type AXIS specifies.
Compatibility — check before buying:
Check your recorder model. AXIS lists this 6 TB drive for the AXIS Camera Station S2212 Mk II and S2224 Mk II (and the discontinued S2212 and S2224) — the S2208, S2216, S3008, S3016 and S4000 recorders are listed with the 4 TB drive instead. It is a bare internal drive: no caddy, screws or cable are listed. MTBF, workload rating and cache size are not published by AXIS, so compare those with care if you plan to use it outside an AXIS recorder. Not sure? Tell us your model and we check it for you.

Singular Expert Insight
Recorders run their disks around the clock, so we always recommend the drive type the recorder maker lists. Keep one spare on site for RAID recorders. For other drives, see our surveillance hard drives.
