The AXIS T8613 SFP Module 1000BASE-T (part number 5801-821) is a copper SFP transceiver with an RJ45 port. It turns an SFP slot on an AXIS switch, midspan, recorder or media converter into a Gigabit copper Ethernet port, reaching up to 100 m over 4-pair Cat5 UTP. It follows IEEE 802.3 and the SFP MSA, runs at 1.25 Gbps with 1000BASE-X/1000BASE-T auto-negotiation and has a loss-of-signal feature. It is industrial grade. In practice it lets you use a free SFP slot for a copper uplink or an extra camera port.
Compatibility — check before buying:
Copper RJ45, Gigabit only — not fibre, and not 10 Gigabit. AXIS lists it for its own switches (T8516, T8508, T8524, T8504-R, D8308, D8248, D8208-R), S4000 and S3016 recorders, TU8008 media converter and T8154 / TU8003 midspans, and states it is compatible with all AXIS products with SFP slots.
