BakkerElkhuizen DXT 3 Precision Mouse Wireless — Vertical, Ambidextrous
Vertical pen-grip, precision handleLeft or right hand at a button4 pointer-speed levelsHands from 69 mm wide
The BakkerElkhuizen DXT 3 Precision Mouse is a vertical ergonomic mouse held like a pen: the upright handle keeps the forearm in a neutral position while the fingertips do the fine work, which is why it is popular with CAD users and designers as well as people with RSI. It is fully ambidextrous — a button swaps the left and right functions, so it can be used with either hand or alternated during the day to rest one side. This is the wireless version, part number BNEDXT3W, EAN 5060261900100, with four selectable pointer-speed levels and the optional DXT Engine software for remapping. BakkerElkhuizen sizes it for medium to large hands, 69 mm or wider across the knuckles; the DXT 2 is the model for narrower hands. Measure your hand width and tell us, and we will confirm the DXT 3 is right.
Compatibility — check before buying:
Sizing: measure the width of the hand across the knuckles from index to little finger; 69 mm and wider is DXT 3, narrower is DXT 2. It works with either hand; the switch button changes the button mapping. Wireless is through a USB receiver; BakkerElkhuizen publishes no Bluetooth for this article, so do not rely on pairing it to a tablet or a laptop without a USB port. BakkerElkhuizen also publishes no DPI figures (four speed levels only), no battery type or runtime, and no weight or dimensions, so we do not quote them. The wired version is BNEDXT3 with a USB-C cable. A pen-grip mouse feels unusual for the first days; most users settle in within a week.
Best For
✓ RSI, tendonitis and carpal-tunnel sufferers
✓ CAD, design and photo editing that needs fine fingertip control
✓ Users who want to alternate hands during the day
✓ Left-handed users who want a vertical mouse
✓ Occupational-health workstation upgrades
✓ Users with hands 69 mm or wider across the knuckles
Key Features
Pen grip, neutral forearm
The upright handle is held between thumb and fingers like a pen, so the wrist and forearm stay neutral and small movements come from the fingertips rather than the whole arm.
Either hand, at a button
Press the switch and left and right buttons swap, so the same mouse serves a left-handed user or lets a right-handed user rest one side by alternating.
Four speeds, optional software
Four pointer-speed levels are selected on the mouse; the optional DXT Engine module remaps buttons. Works plug and play without it. 3-year guarantee, 5 years with registration.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can a left-handed user use the DXT 3?
Yes. One button swaps left and right functions, and the shape is symmetrical, so it is a true ambidextrous vertical mouse.
DXT 2 or DXT 3?
Measure the hand across the knuckles: under 69 mm is DXT 2, 69 mm and wider is DXT 3. Send us the measurement and we will confirm.
Does it work over Bluetooth?
BakkerElkhuizen publishes only wireless via the USB receiver for this article. If you need Bluetooth, tell us and we will suggest an alternative.
How long does it take to get used to?
Most users adapt within a week. The pen grip feels strange at first because the arm stops doing the work.
Singular Expert Insight
The DXT 3 is the vertical mouse for people who need precision as well as relief, and the only one here that swaps hands at a button. If you want a larger, full-palm vertical shape, the Evoluent D range fits; if you want the whole hand supported flat, the HandShoeMouse. See our wireless mice range and ask us to match one to your hand.
Buyer’s Guide
Buy it if
You want a precise vertical pen-grip mouse that works with either hand, on ergonomic or medical advice, and your hand is 69 mm or wider.
Skip it if
Your hand is narrower than 69 mm (DXT 2), you need Bluetooth, or you prefer a full-palm vertical shape (Evoluent D).
Also consider
The DXT 2 Precision Mouse for smaller hands, the Evoluent VerticalMouse D for a full-palm vertical grip, or the HP 925 for a mainstream vertical mouse with Bluetooth.
