BakkerElkhuizen UltraBoard 955 V2 Numeric — USB Numeric Keypad
19 mm pitchScissor keysLeft or rightUSB
The argument for a separate number pad is an ergonomic one, and BakkerElkhuizen states it bluntly: 90% of users do not use the numeric keypad, if ever. A full-width keyboard pushes the mouse a hand’s width further away all day for a block of keys most people never touch. Take the number pad off the keyboard and you shorten the reach to the mouse, which reduces forearm and shoulder strain — and you can still put the pad back on the desk, on either side, on the days you are entering figures. The keys are laid out to the ergonomic standards rather than to fit a shell: a 19 mm key centre distance in line with the DIN EN ISO norm, concave key tops, and a scissor mechanism for a silent, short and comfortable stroke. Legibility is treated as an ergonomic issue too — light keys with dark lettering at a 4 mm font size, with a low-reflection finish, so your eyes are not doing extra work while your fingers find the digits.
Compatibility — check before buying:
What you get beyond the digits is worth knowing before you order. There are four hotkeys — Mail, PrintScreen, ScrollLock and PauseBreak — and integrated navigation keys reached through NumLock and Fn, so Home, End and the page keys are on the pad rather than lost with the rest of the keyboard. An LED shows on/off status. Connection is USB plug and play, and the compatibility BakkerElkhuizen publishes is Windows computers and laptops with a USB port; no macOS or Linux listing is given, so we promise none — tell us your machine and we will test one before shipping. This is the V2 of the 955 Numeric, so check the part number against any older unit you are matching. On the gaps: BakkerElkhuizen states no dimensions, no weight, no key count and no cable length for this model, so we quote none; if the footprint next to your keyboard decides it, ask us and we will measure a unit before you order.

Key Features
A standard, not a guess
19 mm key centre distance in line with the DIN EN ISO norm, with concave key tops — laid out to an ergonomic standard rather than to fit a case.
It shortens the reach to the mouse
Moving the number pad off the keyboard brings the mouse closer, which is the whole ergonomic point: less forearm and shoulder strain, all day.
Silent scissor keys
A short, quiet stroke in the mechanism laptops use, so a pad on a shared desk does not announce every entry.
Readable without effort
Light keys, dark lettering at 4 mm, low reflection. Legibility is an ergonomic property, not a styling choice.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why buy a separate number pad at all?
Because a full-width keyboard pushes your mouse further away all day for keys BakkerElkhuizen says 90% of users never touch. A separate pad shortens that reach and can sit on either side, or come off the desk entirely.
Will it work on a Mac?
BakkerElkhuizen publishes Windows compatibility for this model and lists no macOS support, so we will not promise it. Tell us your machine and we will test a unit before shipping.
How big is it?
BakkerElkhuizen does not state dimensions or weight for the 955 V2 Numeric, so we will not quote figures we cannot source. Ask us and we will measure a unit before you order.
Singular Expert Insight
The number pad is the most-carried, least-used part of a keyboard, and taking it off is one of the few ergonomic changes with an immediate, measurable effect: the mouse comes closer. That the pad is built to the 19 mm norm rather than shrunk is what makes it usable when you do need it. See our
