The Belkin Connect Pro BBZ002DE-V1 turns an 11-inch iPad into something you can actually type on all day: a backlit QWERTZ keyboard with a large click-anywhere trackpad, wrapped in a folio case with a magnetic floating stand. This is the -V1 fitment, which covers the iPad Air 4 and 5, the iPad Air 11-inch M2, M3 and M4, and the iPad Pro 11-inch 3rd and 4th generation.

The keyboard is German QWERTZ — that is what the “de” in the part number means. Belkin sells the identical case with US QWERTY (“tt”) and UK QWERTY (“uk”) part numbers, so check the layout code before ordering if your users expect a different keyboard.

Compatibility — check before buying:
-V1 fits: iPad Air (4th generation), iPad Air (5th generation), iPad Air 11-inch (M2), iPad Air 11-inch (M3, 7th generation), iPad Air 11-inch (M4), iPad Pro 11-inch (3rd generation) and iPad Pro 11-inch (4th generation). It does not fit the iPad Pro 11-inch M4 or M5 — that chassis needs the -V2 version, BBZ002DE-V2. A word of warning: Belkin’s German-language page for this part also lists a 10.5-inch iPad Pro, which is a 2017 model that physically cannot fit an 11-inch case. We have used Belkin’s per-SKU US listing, which does not contain that error.

What is the difference between -V1 and -V2?
Fitment, not revision. -V1 covers the iPad Air 4/5, iPad Air 11-inch M2/M3/M4 and iPad Pro 11-inch 3rd and 4th generation. -V2 covers the iPad Pro 11-inch M4 and M5 exclusively. The two lists do not overlap. Belkin publishes no statement explaining the suffix — that reading comes from comparing its own compatibility lists.
Is it Bluetooth or Smart Connector?
Bluetooth. The case has its own 600 mAh battery and pairs wirelessly, so it does not depend on the iPad’s Smart Connector.
Does it hold and charge an Apple Pencil?
It holds one magnetically. It does not charge it, and no Pencil is included.
Is the keyboard German QWERTZ?
Yes. The “de” in the part number is the layout code — QWERTZ German. Belkin sells the same case with US QWERTY as a “tt” part number and UK QWERTY as “uk”.
How many backlight levels does it have, and how long does the battery last in use?
Belkin does not publish either figure, so we are not going to invent one. What Belkin does publish is a 600 mAh battery and standby life quoted at 365 to 540 days.

The single thing to get right here is the version suffix, because the two are not interchangeable and the model names are confusingly similar. If your iPad Pro 11-inch is an M4 or M5, you need -V2. If it is a 3rd or 4th generation Pro, or any 11-inch Air, you need this one.
