Belkin Everyday Keyboard Case with Cradle — iPad Air 11 and iPad Pro 11

Backlit QWERTZTrackpadRemovable cradleBluetoothApple Pencil holder

The Belkin Everyday BBZ001DE-V1 is the cradle version of Belkin’s iPad keyboard case: the iPad sits in a removable cradle rather than floating on magnets, so you can lift the tablet out of the keyboard and use it on its own. Backlit QWERTZ keyboard, large click-anywhere trackpad, folio cover, 450 mAh battery.

The keyboard is German QWERTZ — that is what the “de” in the part number means. Belkin sells the identical case with US QWERTY (“tt”) and UK QWERTY (“uk”) part numbers, so check the layout code before ordering if your users expect a different keyboard.

Compatibility — check before buying:
Fits the iPad Air 4 and 5, iPad Air 11-inch M2 and M3 (7th generation), and iPad Pro 11-inch 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th generation. Note that the Everyday range reaches further back than the Pro range does — it covers the 1st and 2nd generation iPad Pro 11 as well. It does not cover the iPad Pro 11-inch M4 or M5. A caution on Belkin’s own data: its overview article for the keyboard case range lists a 10.9-inch 10th generation iPad under BBZ001, but that model is actually served by a separate part, BBZ001-V3. We have used the per-SKU product page rather than the overview article.

Best For

✓Turning an iPad into a genuine writing and email machine rather than a tablet with a keyboard bolted on
✓Users who work in low light and want backlit keys
✓Anyone who wants a trackpad, so iPadOS behaves more like a laptop and less like a touchscreen

Key Features

Backlit keys and a click-anywhere trackpad
Full backlighting for low-light work, plus a large trackpad that clicks anywhere on its surface and supports iPadOS multi-touch gestures — three-finger swipes between apps, pinch to zoom, the lot.

Floating cantilever magnetic stand
The iPad floats above the keyboard on a magnetic cantilever rather than sitting in a tray, so you can set the viewing angle and still fold the whole thing flat. Landscape orientation.

Bluetooth, not Smart Connector
It pairs over Bluetooth and carries its own 600 mAh battery, quoted by Belkin at up to 365–540 days of standby. That means it works independently of the iPad’s Smart Connector pins.

Apple Pencil storage built in
A magnetic space holds an Apple Pencil on the case. Note this is storage only — the Pencil is not included and the case does not charge it.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the Everyday differ from the Connect Pro?
Less than the names suggest. Both are backlit, both have the click-anywhere multi-gesture trackpad, both are Bluetooth, both black only, both 0.66 kg, both carry a 2-year Belkin warranty and both hold an Apple Pencil magnetically. There are exactly three real differences: the Everyday uses a removable cradle where the Pro uses a magnetic floating cantilever; the Everyday has a 450 mAh battery against the Pro’s 600 mAh; and the dimensions differ slightly. Notably the Everyday also fits older iPad Pro 11 generations that the Pro case does not.
Is it Bluetooth or Smart Connector?
Bluetooth. The case has its own 600 mAh battery and pairs wirelessly, so it does not depend on the iPad’s Smart Connector.
Does it hold and charge an Apple Pencil?
It holds one magnetically. It does not charge it, and no Pencil is included.
Is the keyboard German QWERTZ?
Yes. The “de” in the part number is the layout code — QWERTZ German. Belkin sells the same case with US QWERTY as a “tt” part number and UK QWERTY as “uk”.
How many backlight levels does it have, and how long does the battery last in use?
Belkin does not publish either figure, so we are not going to invent one. What Belkin does publish is a 600 mAh battery and standby life quoted at 365 to 540 days.
Is it drop rated?
Belkin says it protects against accidental drops and bumps but publishes no drop-test standard or rating. Treat it as everyday protection, not a rugged case.
Singular Expert Insight
The name suggests the Everyday is the stripped-back option, and it is not — it has the same backlight and the same trackpad as the Pro. What you actually give up is the magnetic floating mount, replaced by a cradle, and about a quarter of the battery. What you gain is compatibility with 1st and 2nd generation iPad Pro 11 models that the Pro case leaves out. If you have an older iPad Pro, this is the one that fits.

Buyer's Guide

Buy it if

Buy this if you want a backlit German keyboard with a trackpad for an 11-inch iPad Air or iPad Pro, including the older Pro generations.

Skip it if

Skip it if your iPad Pro 11 is an M4 or M5 (take BBZ002DE-V2), if you want the magnetic floating mount and the bigger battery (take BBZ002DE-V1), or if you need QWERTY.

Also consider

Also worth a look: the rest of the Belkin Connect Pro keyboard case range for other iPad sizes, and our wider accessories lineup.
