The Belkin Secure Holder with Strap for AirTag, part number F8W974BTBLK, is a hard black holder that locks one Apple AirTag in place and attaches it to luggage, a bag, a rucksack or anything that takes a lanyard. The retention is a twist-and-lock mechanism rather than a friction fit — the difference between a tracker that stays put and one that quietly works its way out in a pocket. Raised edges hold the AirTag off surfaces so it does not pick up scratches, and the open face leaves any custom engraving on show. The nylon strap is colour-matched to the holder. Compatibility — check before buying:
Designed for the Apple AirTag only — it does not fit Tile, Samsung SmartTag, Chipolo or other trackers, and the AirTag is not included. Each holder takes one AirTag and the pack contains one holder. The holder covers the AirTag up to 5 mm with an open face, so it is not sealed and not waterproof — for a dog collar, a bike or anything that will be rained on, choose the Belkin IPX8 Waterproof Secure Holder (MSC013) instead. This is the strap version. If you need a metal key ring for keys instead of a lanyard, the F8W973 version is the one to buy.

Twist-and-lock, not a friction fit
The AirTag drops in and twists to lock. Friction-fit and silicone-loop holders are why people end up with the keyring still on the keys and the tracker gone — this one has to be deliberately unlocked.
 
Nylon strap for bags and luggage
A nylon lanyard that threads through a suitcase handle, a rucksack loop or a bag zip — the attachment points a split ring cannot reach. Belkin colour-matches the strap to the holder.
 
Raised edges for scratch protection
The rim stands proud of the AirTag face, so the tracker rests on the holder rather than on a table, on keys or on the inside of a bag. That contact is what makes a bare AirTag look tired within months.
 
Open face keeps engraving visible
If you had the AirTag engraved, you can still read it. The holder frames the AirTag rather than hiding it, which is also the quickest way to tell which tag is on which item.

Is the AirTag included?
No. You get the holder and its strap only. Supply your own Apple AirTag — one per holder. A bare AirTag has no attachment point of any kind, which is exactly why a holder is needed before you can fix it to anything.
Is it waterproof?
No. The holder has an open face and Belkin publishes no water rating for it, so treat it as scratch and retention protection for indoor and everyday carry use. If the AirTag will be on a dog collar, a bicycle or checked luggage that gets rained on, buy the Belkin Waterproof Secure Holder (MSC013), which is rated IPX8 and fully sealed.
Should I buy the strap or the key ring version?
F8W973 comes with a silver metal key ring and is intended for anything that fits on a key ring — keys, a car remote, a locker key. F8W974 comes with a nylon strap, colour-matched to the holder, and is intended for items that take a lanyard, such as luggage, rucksacks and bags. The holder itself is identical; only the attachment differs.
Does the holder affect tracking or the AirTag speaker?
The holder is plastic with an open face, so the Ultra Wideband and Bluetooth signals and the AirTag speaker are not enclosed in metal. Belkin does not publish a signal-attenuation figure for this model, but the open design leaves the front of the tag exposed.

Buying an AirTag gets you a smooth disc with no way to attach it to anything, so the holder is not really an accessory — it is the missing half of the product. Two things decide which one to buy: the attachment and whether it is sealed. The nylon strap is the right answer for luggage and bags, where a split ring simply will not fit through the handle; for keys and car remotes, the key ring version (F8W973) is the one to take. On sealing, this is the open, unsealed version — fine for keys and bags, the wrong choice for a dog or a bike left outside, where the IPX8 MSC013 is what you want.
