The Biostar A520MHP 2.0 is a Micro-ATX motherboard with the AMD A520 chipset and AM4 socket for AMD Ryzen 5000, 5000G, 4000G, 3000 and 3000G processors. It offers two DDR4 slots, one M.2 NVMe slot, four SATA ports and HDMI plus VGA outputs — a no-frills base for office, school and home PCs.
It suits anyone upgrading or building a low-cost AM4 system, especially with a Ryzen G processor and no graphics card. The PS/2 port, VGA output and serial (COM) header help in offices that still use older keyboards, monitors or serial devices.
Before you order: AM4 only, DDR4 only. The HDMI and VGA outputs work only with Ryzen G processors (5000G, 4000G, 3000G) that have integrated graphics; with a regular Ryzen 5000/3000 you need a graphics card. Ryzen 5000 CPUs need a BIOS that supports them.

- Two DDR4 DIMM slots, up to 64 GB (2 × 32 GB), from 2133 MHz up to 4266+ MHz OC with Ryzen 5000/3000 or 4400+ MHz with 5000G/4000G.
- One M.2 2280/2260 slot running NVMe at PCIe 3.0 x4 (or SATA M.2), plus 4 SATA ports with RAID 0/1/10.
- HDMI (4K) and VGA on the rear for Ryzen G systems — VGA is handy for older office monitors and projectors.
- Graphics card slot is PCIe 3.0 x16: fine for office and mainstream gaming cards, though Gen4 cards run at Gen3 speed.
What Will Not Work
- No AM5 processors and no DDR5 memory.
- No Wi-Fi or Bluetooth on board — add a USB or PCIe adapter if you need wireless.
- No video output with non-G Ryzen CPUs such as the Ryzen 5 5600 — a graphics card is required.
- A520 does not support CPU overclocking, and there is no front USB-C header.
