Monaural on-earUSB-CUSB-A adapter included3.5 mm plug
The Poly Blackwire 3315 (8X217AA) is a lightweight monaural wired headset for professional calls and everyday computer audio. It connects directly through USB-C, includes a USB-C-to-USB-A adapter for wider PC compatibility and also provides a 3.5 mm connection for compatible mobile devices and tablets. A noise-cancelling boom microphone, inline controls and Poly SoundGuard acoustic protection make it suitable for office and unified-communications use.
Compatibility — check before buying:
This exact 8X217AA model is the Blackwire 3315 monaural USB-C version with a 3.5 mm plug and USB-C-to-USB-A adapter. It should not be confused with stereo Blackwire 3325 models or Microsoft Teams-specific variants. For analogue use, the target device must provide a compatible 3.5 mm headset connection.

✓ USB-C and USB-A computers
✓ Compatible mobile devices via 3.5 mm
Key Features
USB-C with USB-A adapter
Connect directly to a USB-C computer or use the supplied USB-C-to-USB-A adapter with systems that provide a traditional USB-A port. The included adapter makes this SKU practical across mixed workstation hardware.
3.5 mm device connectivity
The additional 3.5 mm connection supports compatible mobile devices and tablets, giving the Blackwire 3315 more connection flexibility than a USB-only office headset.
Noise-cancelling boom microphone
The omnidirectional boom microphone uses noise-cancelling processing to help reduce surrounding office noise. Poly specifies a microphone bandwidth of 100 Hz to 10 kHz and a 280° rotating boom.
SoundGuard and inline controls
Poly SoundGuard helps protect against sudden acoustic peaks, while the inline control module provides direct access to call answer and end, microphone mute and volume adjustment.

Singular Expert Insight
The main reason to choose 8X217AA is its combination of a single-ear design and flexible connectivity. USB-C covers modern laptops, the supplied adapter covers USB-A systems, and the 3.5 mm connection adds support for compatible mobile devices and tablets. The package also includes a travel case, making this a practical option for hybrid workers who need one headset across several device types while keeping one ear free during calls.
