The BlueOptics J9151E-BO is a 10 Gbit SFP+ transceiver for single-mode fibre, reaching up to 10 km at 1310 nm over a duplex LC connection, with digital diagnostics. It is programmed with the coding of the HPE Aruba J9151E, so HPE Aruba switches, including the CX 8325 identify it as that part. BlueOptics builds it on its BO35J13610D hardware and backs it with a 5-year functional warranty. In practice, single-mode optics are the choice when a link leaves the building or runs several hundred metres: the OS2 fibre used by carriers and campus backbones carries the signal for kilometres with little loss. Before you order, confirm the fibre is single-mode at both ends and note the length and the number of patch panels on the way.

Compatibility — check before buying:
It is coded as an HPE J9151E, the current revision. HPE states the Aruba CX 8325 accepts only J9151E or later — this is the one to order for that switch, not the J9151D-BO. It needs single-mode fibre (OS1/OS2): the orange or aqua multimode fibre in many racks looks the same but will not carry this link. Is it the same as the original HPE J9151E?
It is a compatible module: the same 10GBASE-LR standard, 1310 nm and 10 km on single-mode fibre, programmed with the HPE J9151E coding so the host accepts it. It carries BlueOptics’ own 5-year functional warranty instead of the original maker’s.
J9151E-BO or J9151D-BO?
HPE lists the same optics for revisions D and E. The difference is the switch list: the Aruba CX 8325 accepts only J9151E or later. If you are not sure what your switches accept, the J9151E-BO is the safer choice — or send us the model.
Are fibre patch cords included?
No. You get 1 module. The patch cord for the Duplex LC/UPC connector, a matching module for the far end of the link and a fibre cleaning tool are bought separately. Tell us the distance and the fibre type and we quote the right cord.
Will it work in a switch from another brand?
