BlueLAN SFP-H25G-CU1M-BL — 25G SFP28 Passive Direct Attach Cable, 1 m
25G SFP28Passive twinax DAC1 mCisco compatible
The BlueOptics BlueLAN SFP-H25G-CU1M-BL is a 1 m passive 25 Gigabit SFP28-to-SFP28 direct attach cable (DAC), coded as a compatible replacement for the Cisco SFP-H25G-CU1M, for connecting switches, servers and storage inside a rack.
A DAC is two SFP28 transceiver housings joined by twinaxial copper: no optics, no separate patch cord and very low power and latency. EFB-Elektronik, which distributes the BlueLAN range, lists it for 25G Ethernet, FCoE, Fibre Channel and InfiniBand applications.
Before you order: it is coded for Cisco equipment. Other brands may reject third-party DACs or need a different coding — send us the switch and NIC models and we will confirm before you order.
What's in the Box
- 1 × SFP28-to-SFP28 passive direct attach cable, 1 m (connectors fixed to the cable)
What It Means in Practice
- Plug one end into an SFP28 port on the switch and the other into an SFP28 port on the server NIC or a second switch — there is nothing else to buy.
- Passive DAC means no electronics in the cable; it is the lowest-latency, lowest-power way to make a 25G link over a short distance.
- 1 m suits links within the same rack, e.g. top-of-rack switch to servers below it.
- 25GBASE-CR: both ports must support 25G SFP28 (some hosts also need FEC enabled on the port for 25G copper).
What Will Not Work
- Distances beyond the cable length — for longer runs use SFP28 optics with fibre or a longer DAC.
- Ports that only support 10G SFP+ — a 25G link needs SFP28 at both ends.
- RJ45 copper ports or QSFP28 ports without a breakout cable.
- Hardware that blocks non-Cisco-coded modules — check compatibility first.

Frequently Asked Questions
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
Inside a rack, a 25G DAC is the simplest and cheapest way to connect servers to the top-of-rack switch. Confirm that both ends are SFP28 — not just SFP+ — on your switches with SFP28 ports and network cards, and tell us the brands if they are not Cisco.
✓ Buy it if you are linking two SFP28 ports at 25G within the same rack on Cisco or Cisco-compatible hardware.
✕ Skip it if one end is 10G-only SFP+, the run is longer than 1 m, or your vendor rejects third-party cables.
→ Also consider the 3 m version of this BlueLAN DAC (SFP-H25G-CU3M-BL) for adjacent racks.
Not sure it fits your setup? Send us the model of your rack, switch or device and we will check compatibility before you order.
