Brennenstuhl Secure-Tec 19,500 A Automatic — 8-Way Master/Follow Surge-Protected Extension Lead
Master/Follow automatic19,500 A surge protection1 + 5 + 2 sockets3 m cable · 3500 W
The Brennenstuhl Secure-Tec 19,500 A Automatic (1159490936) is an 8-way Schuko extension lead that combines surge protection with a master/follow function: when the device in the red master socket switches off, the five follow sockets are cut automatically, eliminating standby consumption of monitors, speakers, printers and other peripherals. Two permanent sockets stay powered for equipment such as a router.
The switching threshold of the master socket is adjustable between about 8 and 80 W, so it can be tuned to the real standby draw of your PC or TV. Surge protection is rated at 19,500 A, an illuminated two-pole switch disconnects the whole strip, and separate lamps show surge-protection status and whether the follow sockets are live. Total capacity is 16 A / 3500 W at 230 V on a 3 m H05VV-F 3G1.5 cable.
Before you order: Cyprus wall outlets are BS 1363 (Type G). This product has a Schuko (CEE 7/7) plug, so it needs a Schuko outlet or a properly rated Type G adapter; a fused 13 A adapter caps the total load at roughly 3,000 W.
What's in the Box
- 1x Brennenstuhl Secure-Tec 19,500 A automatic extension lead with surge protection, 8-way, anthracite, with fixed 3 m cable and Schuko angle plug
What It Means in Practice
- Plug your PC or TV into the red master socket and its peripherals into the follow sockets: shut down the PC and everything else switches off with it.
- Use the two permanent sockets for devices that must stay on — router, NAS, alarm or a phone charger.
- If peripherals switch off while the PC is still running (for example in sleep mode), lower the threshold; if they never switch off, raise it.
- All eight sockets share one surge barrier and one 3500 W load limit.
What Will Not Work
- Direct connection to a Cyprus Type G wall outlet without a Schuko outlet or rated adapter.
- UK Type G plugs without adapters.
- Master/follow with a laptop on battery or a device whose standby draw sits above the threshold range — the follow sockets may never switch off.
- Protecting phone, DSL or LAN lines — mains side only.
- Outdoor or damp use — IP20, indoor only.

Frequently Asked Questions
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
A master/follow strip is one of the simplest ways to cut wasted standby power around a PC or TV, and this Secure-Tec adds a high 19,500 A surge rating on top. Set the threshold once and the peripherals manage themselves. See our other power strips and extension leads if you need USB ports or a smaller strip.
✓ Buy it if you want peripherals to switch off automatically with your PC or TV and want strong surge protection.
✕ Skip it if your main device never truly powers down, or you need data-line protection.
→ Also consider the Secure-Tec 19,500 A acoustic 6-way if you do not need master/follow.
