Brennenstuhl Desktop-Power 2-Way Desk Socket with 2 × USB-A — White
2 × Schuko2 × USB-A, 2.1 A total1.8 m cableNon-slip feet
The Brennenstuhl Desktop-Power USB-Charger is a compact 2-way Schuko desk socket with two built-in USB-A charging ports, designed to sit on a desk, bedside table or meeting-room table so that a laptop charger and two phones can be plugged in without reaching under the desk.
The two earthed sockets are arranged at 90° with increased touch protection, the polished white housing stands on non-slip feet, and the 1.8 m H05VV-F 3G1.5 cable can leave the unit on the left or right. The two USB-A ports share a maximum of 5 V / 2.1 A (10.5 W in total).
Before you order: Cyprus wall sockets are BS 1363 (Type G). This lead ends in a Schuko plug, so it needs a Schuko wall socket or a Schuko-to-UK adapter; a fused UK adapter (normally 13 A) limits the whole strip to roughly 3,000 W, below its 3,500 W rating.
What's in the Box
- 1 × Brennenstuhl Desktop-Power USB-Charger 2-way desk socket (white) with fixed 1.8 m H05VV-F 3G1.5 cable and angled Schuko plug.
- No USB cables are included — use the cables that came with your devices.
What It Means in Practice
- Charge two phones or earbuds from USB while a laptop adapter and a lamp use the two sockets.
- The 10.5 W USB total is shared: two phones charge at standard speed, not fast-charge speed.
- Non-slip feet keep it in place on a desk; the cable exit left or right helps it sit neatly.
- There is no on/off switch — unplug it or use a switched wall socket to cut power.
What Will Not Work
- UK three-pin (Type G) plugs do not fit these Schuko sockets — each UK-plug device needs its own UK-to-Schuko adapter.
- Plugging the lead straight into a Cyprus BS 1363 wall socket — the Schuko plug needs a Schuko wall socket or a Schuko-to-UK adapter.
- Running several heaters, kettles, irons or other high-wattage appliances at once — their combined draw can exceed the 3,500 W limit and trip the wall circuit.
- Daisy-chaining it into another extension lead — the first lead and the wall outlet still limit the total load.
- Fast charging (USB Power Delivery or Quick Charge) and laptop charging over USB — the USB-A ports deliver 5 V only, 2.1 A shared.
- USB-C devices without a USB-A to USB-C cable — there is no USB-C port.
- Surge protection — it has none.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will it plug into a normal wall socket in Cyprus?
Not directly. Cyprus uses BS 1363 (Type G) sockets and this lead has a Schuko plug. Use a Schuko-to-UK adapter or a Schuko wall socket; with a 13 A fused adapter, keep the total load to about 3,000 W.
Can it fast-charge my phone?
No. The two USB-A ports share 5 V / 2.1 A (10.5 W), which is standard-speed charging. Fast-charging needs a USB-C PD charger.
Does it have a switch?
No. It is live whenever the plug is connected.
Can I charge a USB-C phone?
Yes, with a USB-A to USB-C cable, at standard speed.
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
Desktop-Power solves the most common desk complaint — reaching under the desk to plug in a charger — and adds two USB ports for phones. It is a convenience item, not a protector, so a desktop PC or monitor should still sit behind one of our
surge protectors.
✓ Buy it if you want two sockets and two USB charge ports right on the desk or bedside table.
✕ Skip it if you need fast charging, USB-C ports, a switch or more than two sockets.
→ Also consider a Brennenstuhl Premium-Line strip under the desk if you need more sockets.
