The Brother TD-4420DNFC is a 4-inch desktop direct thermal printer for continuous linerless labels. Its fitted automatic cutter produces the requested label length, while a label taken sensor detects removal. USB, serial and Ethernet connect it to a supported host application. This is the FC linerless configuration, with no LCD or wireless interface.

Before you order:
Use only supported linerless rolls: widths 39, 58, 80 or 106 mm, maximum outside diameter 102 mm and minimum core 25.4 mm. Printable width is up to 104.1 mm. Ordinary backed labels and standard TD-4D accessories are not interchangeable with this FC configuration.

What It Means in Practice

  • For example, an application sends a variable-length product label over Ethernet; the printer prints and cuts it from a supported continuous linerless roll. The operator removes the label, without a separate release liner to discard.
  • Label layout and business data come from compatible software. Mobile use requires an appropriately developed Brother SDK application and a supported connection.

What Will Not Work

  • Choose another configuration if you require ordinary backed media, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or a display.
  • No ribbon is used; use approved linerless stock and maintain the cutter according to Brother guidance.
