Brother BU-800CL Transfer Belt Unit
Transfer beltColour laserGenuine BrotherHL-L9430CDN · MFC-L9670CDN
The Brother BU-800CL is the genuine transfer belt unit for Brother's high-volume colour lasers — the HL-L9430CDN, HL-L9470CDN, MFC-L9630CDN and MFC-L9670CDN.
The belt carries the four toner colours from the drums to the paper, so a worn belt shows up as smears, colour misregistration or repeated marks across the page.
Before you order: Replace the belt when the printer reports that the belt is at end of life. The waste toner box for these printers is a separate item (WT-800CL) and is not part of the belt unit.
What's in the Box
- 1 × Brother BU-800CL transfer belt unit
What It Means in Practice
- Brother UK lists a duty of 100,000 pages for the belt unit — far longer than a toner cartridge, so it is a periodic service item.
- Replace it when the printer prompts; the printer manual shows the replacement steps for your model.
- Keeping a spare belt on hand avoids downtime on printers that run high monthly volumes.
What Will Not Work
- Brother HL-L8xxx / MFC-L8xxx colour lasers — they take a different belt unit.
- Fixing problems caused by a full waste toner box — that needs the WT-800CL.
- Toner or drum problems — check drum and toner messages first.

Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
On high-volume Brother colour lasers the belt is a planned service part; keeping a BU-800CL on hand avoids downtime when the printer flags it. Remember the waste toner box is ordered separately. See our printer accessories and spares.
✓ Buy it if you run an HL-L9430CDN, HL-L9470CDN, MFC-L9630CDN or MFC-L9670CDN and the belt is due.
✕ Skip it if your printer is an HL-L8xxx / MFC-L8xxx model.
→ Also consider the Brother WT-800CL waste toner box for the same printers.
Not sure it fits? Tell us the exact model of your printer (it is on the label at the back or in the printer settings report) and we will confirm compatibility before you order.
