Brother LT-5505 Optional Lower Paper Tray — 250 Sheets
250 sheets60–120 g/m²Genuine BrotherMono laser series
The Brother LT-5505 is a genuine 250-sheet optional lower paper tray for Brother mono laser printers and MFPs in the HL-L5000, HL-L6000, DCP-L6000 and MFC-L6000 families, adding a second paper source under the printer.
It is the compact choice when you want a second paper type loaded (letterhead, recycled paper, a different size) or a little more capacity without the height of the 520-sheet tray.
Before you order: Check your exact model: the LT-5505 is for Brother mono lasers in the L5000/L6000 families (for example HL-L5210DN, HL-L6210DW, HL-L6410DN, HL-L6415DN, HL-L6300DW, HL-L6400DW, MFC-L6800DW, MFC-L6900DW, DCP-L6600DW). It does not fit Brother colour lasers.
What's in the Box
- 1 × Brother LT-5505 lower paper tray unit
- Brother printed documentation (installation guide)
What It Means in Practice
- Up to 250 sheets of 80 g/m² paper — half a ream, ideal as a second paper source.
- Supported sizes: A4, Letter, B5 (JIS), A5, Executive, Legal, Mexico Legal, India Legal, Folio, 16K and A4 Short.
- Paper weight 60–120 g/m², so slightly heavier office stock is fine.
- Footprint 363 mm wide × 384 mm deep × 122 mm high — it adds about 12 cm to the printer height.
- HL-L5210/L5215/L6210 take up to two lower trays; HL-L6410DN/L6415DN take up to three LT-5505 or two lower trays in any combination (per Brother).
What Will Not Work
- Brother colour laser printers (HL-L8xxx / HL-L9xxx / MFC-L8xxx) — they use LT-3xxCL trays.
- Envelopes and card heavier than 120 g/m² — use the manual/multi-purpose feed.
- If you need high volume rather than a second source, the 520-sheet LT-6505 is the better fit (HL-L6210DW / L6410DN / L6415DN only).
Key Features
Second paper source
Keep two paper types loaded and choose per job from the driver.
Compact height
At 122 mm high it raises the printer only slightly.
Stackable
Supported models accept two or three lower trays depending on the model.

Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
For Brother mono workgroup lasers the LT-5505 is the simplest way to add a second paper type. If paper volume is the problem, look at the 520-sheet LT-6505 first, provided your model supports it. Browse our printer accessories range for the matching options.
✓ Buy it if you have a Brother HL-L5000/L6000 or MFC/DCP-L6000 mono laser and want a second 250-sheet source.
✕ Skip it if your Brother is a colour laser, or you need 500+ extra sheets per tray.
→ Also consider the Brother LT-6505 520-sheet tray for HL-L6210DW, HL-L6410DN and HL-L6415DN.
Not sure it fits? Tell us the exact model of your printer (it is on the label at the back or in the printer settings report) and we will confirm compatibility before you order.
