Brother BPA-PRM-004 Replacement Platen Roller — Titan TJ Series
Titan TJ-44xx / TJ-45xxGenuine BrotherDealer installablePlaten roller
The Brother BPA-PRM-004 is the genuine replacement platen roller for Brother's Titan industrial label printers — the TJ-4420TN, TJ-4422TN, TJ-4520TN and TJ-4522TN.
The platen roller presses labels and ribbon against the printhead and drives the media; once it is worn, flattened or nicked you get uneven print, skewing and feed problems.
Before you order: For the Titan TJ-4420TN / TJ-4422TN / TJ-4520TN / TJ-4522TN only. The TJ-4005DN / TJ-4020TN / TJ-4021TN / TJ-4120TN / TJ-4121TN use the BPA-PRL-004 platen roller instead.
What's in the Box
- 1 × Brother BPA-PRM-004 platen roller
What It Means in Practice
- Restores even pressure across the label width, which fixes faded edges and patchy barcodes caused by roller wear.
- Improves media tracking — a worn roller is a common cause of labels drifting or wrinkling.
- Brother classes it as dealer installable; fitting takes a technician or experienced user.
- On a high-volume printer it is common to replace the roller together with the printhead (BPA-HA2M-004 for 203 dpi, BPA-HA3M-004 for 300 dpi Titan models).
What Will Not Work
- TJ-4005DN, TJ-4020TN, TJ-4021TN, TJ-4120TN, TJ-4121TN — use BPA-PRL-004.
- Brother TD desktop label printers, QL or PT label makers.
- A damaged printhead — the roller does not fix missing dots or white lines from a failed head.

Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
A platen roller is a wear part that is often overlooked when a Titan printer starts producing poor labels. If cleaning the head does not help and the roller looks worn, replace it first — it is cheaper than a head. See the rest of our TJ and printer spares.
✓ Buy it if you run a Titan TJ-4420TN, TJ-4422TN, TJ-4520TN or TJ-4522TN and see feed or uneven-print problems.
✕ Skip it if your printer is a TJ-4005DN/4020TN/4021TN/4120TN/4121TN.
→ Also consider the BPA-HA2M-004 (203 dpi) or BPA-HA3M-004 (300 dpi) printhead if the head is also worn.
Not sure which spare your TJ printer takes? Send us the model and serial label and we will confirm the right part before you order.
