Brother TZe-132 Laminated Label Tape — Red on Clear, 12 mm x 8 m
Genuine Brother TZe12 mm x 8 mRed on ClearLaminated · Standard adhesive
The Brother TZe-132 is a genuine laminated TZe label tape cassette that prints red on clear in a 12 mm width and 8 m length, made for P-touch users who need labels that keep reading cleanly on files, shelves, cables and equipment. Red text draws attention, which makes it a common choice for warnings, priority files, spare-part bins and anything that should stand out from standard black labels.
Laminated means the printed text sits between the tape and a clear protective layer instead of on the surface. Brother states that its laminated P-touch labels are developed to last even under demanding conditions, with resistance to temperature extremes, sunlight, water, chemicals and abrasion. Because the tape is transparent, the surface underneath shows through — on light, plain surfaces the red text reads best; on dark or busy surfaces contrast drops.
Before you order: This cassette only fits Brother P-touch printers that show the TZ or TZe logo on the tape cover. It does not fit M-tape printers such as the PT-M95 or Brother Btag models (PT-N10, PT-N20, PT-N25BT). 12 mm is supported by almost every TZe model, including entry-level printers.
What's in the Box
- 1 x Brother TZe-132 TZe tape cassette, 12 mm wide, 8 m long
- Laminated tape with red on clear
- Standard-strength adhesive on a peel-off backing
What It Means in Practice
- 12 mm is the most common P-touch width — enough for one bold line or two smaller lines of text.
- Red on clear looks neat on white folders, light-coloured cabinets, glass and whiteboards.
- On dark plastics, black racks or patterned surfaces, red on clear is hard to read — choose a white-background tape instead.
- You can print mirror text on clear tape and stick it on the inside of a glass door so it reads from outside.
What Will Not Work
- M-series printers (M tape logo) and Btag models — the cassette shape is different and will not load.
- DYMO, Epson LabelWorks, Casio or other brands of label printer — TZe cassettes are Brother-specific.
- Printers limited to narrower tapes — check that your model lists 12 mm (nearly all TZe printers do).
- Brother QL label printers — those use DK paper or film rolls, not TZe cassettes.
Key Features
Laminated protection
The print is protected by a clear laminate layer, so text does not smudge or rub off with handling or cleaning.
Clear tape, red text
Red characters on transparent tape let the surface colour show through, giving a clean, printed-on look on light surfaces.
Standard adhesive
Bonds to most smooth, clean, dry surfaces such as plastic, metal, painted surfaces and folders.
Genuine TZe cassette
Drops into any TZe-compatible P-touch printer — no cutting or threading; the built-in cutter trims each label.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know my printer takes TZe tape?
Open the tape compartment: TZe-compatible P-touch printers show the TZ or TZe logo on the cover or in the manual. If you see an M logo instead, you need M tape.
Will the label survive cleaning or outdoor use?
Brother states laminated TZe labels resist water, chemicals, abrasion, sunlight and temperature extremes. Brother does not publish a lifetime in years for this cassette.
Is red on clear good for dark surfaces?
No. On dark or busy surfaces the red text loses contrast. For those, choose a tape with a white or yellow background such as TZe-231 (black on white).
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
The TZe-132 is a sensible everyday choice when you want labels that look clean and stay readable. Red on clear works best as an accent colour — for warnings, highlights or colour-coding — on white or light surfaces. If most of your labels go on black equipment or mixed surfaces, a white-background tape gives far better contrast. See our full
labels and label tapes range for other widths and colours.
✓ Buy it if you have a TZe P-touch printer and want red, attention-grabbing labels on light surfaces, glass or folders.
✕ Skip it if your labels go on dark or patterned surfaces, or your printer uses M tape or is a Btag model.
→ Also consider TZe-231 (black on white, 12 mm) for maximum contrast, or TZe-111 (black on clear, 6 mm) for small discreet labels.
