The Brother TN-247BK is an original Brother high-yield black toner cartridge rated for up to 3,000 pages (ISO/IEC 19798), made for the Brother HL-L3210CW, HL-L3230CDW, HL-L3270CDW, DCP-L3510CDW, DCP-L3550CDW, MFC-L3710CW, MFC-L3730CDN, MFC-L3750CDW and MFC-L3770CDW. It suits small offices where black text is most of the volume on a compact colour printer.

It prints three times the pages of the standard TN-243BK (approx. 1,000 pages) in the same slot, and the printer itself ships with only about 1,000 pages of starter toner — so the TN-247BK is the usual first purchase.

• The page count is the manufacturer's declared yield, measured with the ISO/IEC 19798 test method (about 5% coverage per page). Photos, full-page graphics and heavy fills use more toner, so real-world counts are often lower.
• TN-243 and TN-247 cartridges fit the same printers and can be mixed colour by colour.
• The drum set (DR-243CL), belt (BU-223CL) and waste toner box (WT-223CL) are separate parts with their own life — this cartridge replaces only the black toner.
• Store unopened cartridges flat in their original packaging, away from direct sunlight and heat, and open the sealed bag only when you install it.
