Canon PF-04 Print Head — 5-colour, 15,360-nozzle head for imagePROGRAF large-format printers
Genuine Canon15,360 nozzles1200 dpiUser-replaceable
The Canon PF-04 (3630B001) is the genuine user-replaceable print head for Canon imagePROGRAF large-format printers including the iPF650, iPF670, iPF680, iPF750, iPF770, iPF780, iPF840 and iPF850.
It carries 15,360 nozzles — 5,120 for matte black and 2,560 each for black, cyan, magenta and yellow — firing 4 pl droplets at 1200 dpi. When nozzles fail permanently and cleaning no longer recovers them, you see banding, missing colours or streaks across CAD and poster prints; a new head restores the printer.
Before you order: PF-04 is the head for the 5-colour iPF600/700/800-class models listed here. It does not fit 12-colour photo models (PF-03/PF-05) or the newer TM/TX series (PF-06).
What's in the Box
- 1 x Canon PF-04 print head (3630B001)
What It Means in Practice
- Canon lists the PF-04 as a user-replaceable print head.
- Run head cleaning and nozzle checks first — many nozzle problems recover without a new head.
- Ink tanks and maintenance cartridges are separate and differ by printer model.
- Replacing the head is far cheaper than replacing a working large-format printer.
What Will Not Work
- It does not fit the iPF5000/6000 or iPF6300/6400/8300 photo printers (PF-03 / PF-05).
- It does not fit imagePROGRAF TM or TX series printers (PF-06).
- It is not an ink tank or maintenance cartridge.
- It will not fix paper feed or cutter problems.

Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
A PF-04 often brings an older iPF printer back to full quality for a fraction of the cost of a new large-format printer, as long as the rest of the machine is sound. Run nozzle checks first. Our printer accessories and service parts page lists other imagePROGRAF parts.
✓ Buy it if your iPF650/670/680, iPF750/770/780 or iPF840/850 shows nozzle gaps that cleaning cannot recover or a print head error.
✕ Skip it if your printer is a 12-colour photo model or a TM/TX series printer.
→ Also consider The matching maintenance cartridge for your iPF model if it is close to full.
Not sure which head your imagePROGRAF takes? Send us the model from the printer label and we will check it before you order.
