Canon PFI-1700 PM Photo Magenta Ink Tank — 700 ml LUCIA PRO
PFI-1700 PM700 mlLUCIA PRO pigmentimagePROGRAF PRO-2000/4000/6000 and PRO-2100/4100/6100
The Canon 0780C001 is the original PFI-1700 PM Photo Magenta ink tank: 700 ml of LUCIA PRO pigment ink for Canon imagePROGRAF PRO-2000/4000/6000 and PRO-2100/4100/6100 large-format printers. Photo Magenta is the lighter magenta that gives smooth skin tones and gradations, and it is part of both the 12-colour and the 8-colour (S) ink sets.
The 700 ml tank is the largest of the three sizes Canon makes for this ink (PFI-1100 PM 160 ml, PFI-1300 PM 330 ml, PFI-1700 PM 700 ml). The ink inside is the same; the bigger tank lowers the cost per millilitre and means fewer tank changes on busy printers.
Before you order: Do not confuse PFI-1700 PM (Photo Magenta) with PFI-1700 M (Magenta) — they go in different slots. PFI-3700 PM looks similar but is LUCIA PRO II for the PRO-2600/4600/6600 and will not fit these printers.
What's in the Box
- 1 × Canon PFI-1700 PM Photo Magenta ink tank, 700 ml
- Ink tank only — no printhead or maintenance cartridge
What It Means in Practice
- Volume: 700 ml, the largest tank size for LUCIA PRO printers in this series.
- Ink type: LUCIA PRO pigment ink, Canon's ink set for photo, fine-art and proof printing.
- Fits only the colour slot marked PM on the printer.
- Smaller tanks of the same ink (PFI-1100 PM 160 ml, PFI-1300 PM 330 ml, PFI-1700 PM 700 ml) can be mixed with 700 ml tanks on printers that accept them.
What Will Not Work
- imagePROGRAF PRO-2600, PRO-4600, PRO-6600 and GP-x600S — they use PFI-3700 / PFI-2700 tanks
- Desktop imagePROGRAF PRO-1000 — it uses 80 ml PFI-1000 tanks
- The Magenta (M) slot of the same printer

Frequently Asked Questions
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
Photo Magenta tends to empty faster than you expect on portrait and fine-art work, so it is a good tank to keep as a spare. Check the letters on the empty tank — PM, not M — before you order. Browse our original ink range for the other colours of the set.
✓ Buy it if you run a Canon imagePROGRAF PRO-2000/4000/6000 and PRO-2100/4100/6100 and need the Photo Magenta (PM) tank.
✕ Skip it if your printer is from a different imagePROGRAF series — the tank will not fit.
→ Also consider Canon PFI-1700 M Magenta (0777C001) for the standard magenta slot.
Not sure which tank you need? Send us your printer model and the colour code shown on the empty tank, and we will confirm before you order.
