CHERRY GENTIX DESKTOP — Wireless Keyboard and Mouse Set, Swiss, Black
Integrated palm rest2000 dpi mouse3-year batteryOne nano receiver
The CHERRY GENTIX DESKTOP (JD-7000CH-2) finishes a desk in one box and then stays out of the way for about three years. The keyboard is full size with a numeric pad, ten multimedia and office keys, status LEDs for Caps, Num and Scroll, three rubberised feet and an integrated semi-transparent palm rest — a genuine one, moulded into the housing rather than a pad that slides away. The mouse is symmetrical, so it suits left and right hands and large and small ones, with six buttons including two thumb buttons and a resolution you can switch between 1000 and 2000 dpi. Both run on a single 2.4 GHz nano receiver with about 10 m of range, and CHERRY quotes up to three years of battery life with a low-battery indicator. The keyboard is 456 × 170 × 21 mm. In the box: keyboard, mouse, nano receiver, batteries and documentation.
Compatibility — check before buying:
Layout: Swiss QWERTZ swaps Y and Z, puts ü/ö/ä (and è/é/à) on the keys right of P and L, and moves most symbols compared with a US or UK keyboard. Choose it only if you type in Swiss German or French; for English use in Cyprus ask us for the US or UK version of the same model. Both devices run through the supplied 2.4 GHz nano receiver, which needs a free USB-A port — a USB-C-only laptop needs an adapter or a dock. There is no Bluetooth, so the set cannot be paired to a tablet or a phone, and it will not work in the BIOS before the operating system loads. There is no backlight. The palm rest is part of the housing and cannot be removed, so allow for the extra depth on a shallow desk. CHERRY lists Windows, and the free CHERRY KEYS utility (Windows) reprograms keys; the set works without it. CHERRY does not publish a weight for the keyboard or separate battery figures for keyboard and mouse.
Best For
✓ Home and office desks that need to be finished in one purchase
✓ Left-handed users, thanks to the symmetrical mouse
✓ Long typing days where a palm rest actually helps
✓ Shared and family computers
✓ Sites that want one receiver per desk rather than two
✓ Anyone who does not want to think about batteries for years
Key Features
A palm rest that is part of the keyboard
Moulded into the housing in semi-transparent plastic, so it never slides out of position the way a separate gel pad does.
A mouse either hand can use
The symmetrical shape with two thumb buttons suits left- and right-handers and both large and small hands — rare in a bundled combo mouse.
1000 or 2000 dpi at the press of a button
Switch to 2000 dpi for a high-resolution screen and back down for precision work, without any software.
Up to three years of battery
With a battery status indicator, so the set warns you rather than dying mid-morning.

Singular Expert Insight
The GENTIX DESKTOP is our pick when a desk needs a complete wireless set and someone on the team is left-handed — that symmetrical mouse solves a problem most combos ignore. If you need the keyboard in the BIOS, buy a wired one for that machine. See our keyboards and wireless mice.
Buyer’s Guide
Buy it if
You want one box that finishes the desk: a full-size wireless keyboard with a built-in palm rest and an ambidextrous 2000 dpi mouse, in Swiss layout.
Skip it if
You need Bluetooth, a backlight, BIOS access, or a keyboard without a fixed palm rest.
Also consider
Logitech MK540 ADVANCED for a receiver-based set without a palm rest, or the CHERRY STREAM KEYBOARD WIRELESS if you only need the keyboard.
