CHERRY STREAM MOUSE COMFORT — White
2.4 GHz receiver, AES-1281000 / 2000 / 3000 / 4000 DPINear-silent buttonsUp to 16 months on 1× AA
The CHERRY STREAM MOUSE COMFORT in white (order code JW-8550-0) is a full-size right-handed office mouse with a moulded thumb rest, six near-silent buttons and a 2.4 GHz nano USB receiver with AES-128 encryption. CHERRY publishes four DPI levels from 1000 to 4000, a metal scroll wheel and up to 16 months of use from the single AA battery in the box. It suits people who spend the whole day at a desk and want a quiet, roomy mouse without charging cables — in a light finish that matches white keyboards and desks.
Compatibility — check before buying:
2.4 GHz receiver only — there is no Bluetooth and no wired mode, so a laptop without a free USB-A port needs an adapter or hub. Right-handed shape only; CHERRY makes no left-handed version. CHERRY’s manual notes the receiver is a USB 2.0 device and recommends a USB 2.0 port if a USB 3.0 port misbehaves. Button programming (CHERRY KEYS) is Windows-only. The black version is JW-8550-2; the STREAM MOUSE ULTIMATE is a different model with Bluetooth and multi-device switching.
Best For
✓ All-day desk work where a full palm rest matters
✓ Quiet offices and shared rooms
✓ Users who prefer replaceable AA batteries to charging
✓ Corporate PCs that need an encrypted wireless link
✓ Larger hands that find compact mice cramped
✓ White or light-coloured desk setups and CHERRY STREAM keyboards
Key Features
Shaped for the whole hand
A wide body with a rubberised thumb rest keeps the hand relaxed over long sessions. Six buttons including two thumb buttons and a DPI switch, plus a metal scroll wheel.
Near-silent, four DPI steps
CHERRY specifies near-silent switches, and the DPI button cycles 1000, 2000, 3000 and 4000 DPI so the cursor speed suits anything from a laptop screen to a large monitor.
Sixteen months on one AA
A single AA battery (included) runs for up to 16 months by CHERRY’s figure, with a battery indicator so you are not caught out. The nano receiver stores in the mouse.

Singular Expert Insight
For a desk-bound office user the STREAM MOUSE COMFORT is the roomiest and quietest AA-powered option in our wireless mice at this price, and the AES-encrypted receiver satisfies most IT policies; the white finish is the one to pair with a white STREAM keyboard. Its single connection is the limitation: the compact CHERRY MW 9100 adds Bluetooth and USB-C charging for laptop travel, and the Trust Ozaa+ adds three-device switching. If your laptop has no USB-A port, one of our docking stations solves the receiver question.
Buyer’s Guide
Buy it if
You sit at one desk, want a full-size quiet mouse with a thumb rest and a 16-month AA battery in white, and your PC has a USB-A port.
Skip it if
You need Bluetooth, multi-device switching, a left-handed shape or USB-C charging.
Also consider
CHERRY MW 9100 (JW-9100-2) for Bluetooth and USB-C in a compact body, or Trust Ozaa+ (24820) for three-device switching.
