CHERRY MC 1000 — Simple Wired Business Mouse
1200 DPI optical3-button designAmbidextrousUSB-A wired
The CHERRY MC 1000 (JM-0800-2) is the black variant of CHERRY's straightforward wired business mouse. It combines fixed 1200 DPI optical tracking with a three-button scroll-wheel layout, a symmetrical standard-size body and USB-A connectivity. Its ambidextrous shape makes it suitable for both right- and left-handed users.
Compatibility — check before buying:
The MC 1000 requires a USB-A connection. CHERRY currently lists Windows as the supported operating-system platform and also lists CHERRY KEYS software support. Devices with USB-C ports only require a suitable USB-C to USB-A adapter or hub.
Best For
✓ Everyday office and home computing
✓ Shared desks and workstations
✓ Left- and right-handed users
✓ Simple wired USB setups
Key Features
1200 DPI optical tracking
CHERRY specifies a fixed 1200 DPI optical sensor for precise everyday cursor control without an adjustable DPI switch.
Three-button layout
The MC 1000 uses left and right click together with a scroll wheel that also provides the third button function.
Symmetrical standard-size design
The symmetrical housing is suitable for both left- and right-handed users, making the mouse practical for shared workstations and mixed-user office environments.
Wired USB-A connection
The approximately 1.8 m USB cable provides both power and data, so there are no batteries or wireless pairing procedures to manage.

Singular Expert Insight
The MC 1000 is intentionally basic, which makes it well suited to straightforward office deployments. It provides fixed 1200 DPI optical tracking, three controls, a symmetrical standard-size shape and a wired USB-A connection with no battery maintenance. This exact JM-0800-2 SKU is the black version; the otherwise similar grey JM-0800-0 uses a different EAN, so the colour variant should be checked when ordering.
