CHERRY STREAM KEYBOARD WIRELESS — 2.4 GHz Office Keyboard, US International, Black
36-month batteryAES-128 encryptedSX scissor keysGS approved
The CHERRY STREAM KEYBOARD WIRELESS (JK-8550EU-2) is the cable-free version of CHERRY’s long-running office keyboard, and it is built around one practical idea: you should never have to think about it. Two AA batteries last up to 36 months, the nano receiver stays in the USB port and the 2.4 GHz link is AES-128 encrypted, which is the detail that gets it past an IT security review. The keys use the CHERRY SX scissor mechanism — a short, precise stroke with a soft landing, quiet enough for an open-plan floor. On top of the standard 105-key layout there are ten extra keys: six multimedia, three launcher and a lock key. The body measures 462.2 × 162.2 × 23.1 mm and the keyboard is GS approved. In the box: keyboard, nano USB receiver, two AA batteries and documentation.
Compatibility — check before buying:
Layout: US International QWERTY is the layout most people in Cyprus type on: wide Enter key, @ above 2. If your current keyboard is UK layout, the Enter key changes shape and a few symbols move, but letters and numbers are identical. The link is 2.4 GHz through the supplied nano receiver, which needs a free USB-A port — a USB-C-only laptop needs an adapter or a dock. There is no Bluetooth, so this keyboard cannot be paired directly with a tablet or a phone, and it will not work in the BIOS before the operating system loads. There is no backlight and no palm rest. CHERRY lists Windows; the keyboard follows standard HID so it also types on macOS and Linux, with the keys labelled for Windows. CHERRY does not publish a weight for this model. Range is about 10 m in the open — more than enough for a desk, and it also drives a screen across a meeting room.
Best For
✓ Offices that want a wireless keyboard nobody has to maintain
✓ Security-conscious sites that need an encrypted wireless link
✓ Open-plan floors where typing noise is a complaint
✓ Clean desks with no cable to the keyboard
✓ Meeting rooms and presentation PCs
✓ Anyone tired of changing keyboard batteries twice a year
Key Features
Three years on two AA cells
Up to 36 months of battery life means the keyboard outlasts most of the projects typed on it — and CHERRY includes the first set.
AES-128 encrypted 2.4 GHz
Keystrokes are encrypted between keyboard and receiver, which is what allows this model into environments that ban ordinary wireless keyboards.
CHERRY SX scissor keys
A short, defined stroke with a damped landing — the STREAM is designed so the person at the next desk stops noticing you type.
Ten extra keys
Six multimedia, three launcher and a lock key sit above the standard layout instead of behind an Fn combination.

Singular Expert Insight
This is the wireless keyboard we recommend to offices that have been burned by cheap ones: encrypted, three-year batteries, and a keystroke people can live with. If someone needs the keyboard in the BIOS, buy the wired STREAM for that desk instead. Browse our keyboards or add a matching mouse from our wireless mice.
