Keep your USB-A devices on a USB-C laptop
A pocket-size aluminium adapter that turns a USB-C port into a full-size USB-A socket at 5 Gbps.
USB 3.0 5 GbpsOTGAluminiumSilver
The CHERRY 61710036 is a 30 x 14 x 7 mm aluminium adapter that plugs into a USB-C port and presents a standard USB-A socket, so a keyboard, mouse, wireless receiver or USB stick keeps working on a laptop that has dropped its full-size ports. Part number 61710036 runs at USB 3.0 speed (5 Gbit/s), supports OTG so phones and tablets can host accessories too, needs no driver and is covered by a two-year CHERRY warranty.
Before you buy · The adapter works one way only: the USB-C plug goes into the computer, phone or tablet, and the USB-A socket takes the accessory. It cannot be used the other way round to put a USB-C device on a USB-A port.

Singular Expert Insight
Two of these live permanently in most laptop bags, and the aluminium body is why this one survives that treatment better than the plastic freebies. It is the right answer when a single accessory has to keep working on a machine with only USB-C ports; once you are juggling three or four devices plus a screen, a hub earns its place instead. See the alternatives in USB Type-C cables and adapters.
✓ Buy it if you have one or two USB-A accessories to keep alive on a USB-C laptop, phone or tablet.
✕ Skip it if you need several ports at once, an Ethernet jack or a video output.
→ Also consider a compact USB-C hub if more than one device has to be connected at the same time.
