The Chillax DM610 Giraffe Mood is a video baby monitor with a 5-inch parent unit and a 1080p camera on a flexible giraffe neck, topped with a colour mood-light globe that doubles as a sleep trainer — for parents who want to see their baby, soothe them with light and sound, and teach a simple “time to sleep / time to wake” routine from one device.
The camera and the parent unit connect directly over their own 2.4 GHz link, so the monitor works out of the box without Wi-Fi. If you want to watch from your phone as well, the camera also joins your home Wi-Fi and the ChillaxCare app adds remote viewing, sharing with family and sound and motion alerts. A physical Wi-Fi switch lets you turn the internet side off completely whenever you prefer.
On the parent unit you pan the camera left and right, zoom 2×, talk back, play a lullaby or your own recorded voice, and log feeds and nappy changes with dedicated buttons. The room temperature is shown on screen and turns red when the nursery is below 14 °C or above 29 °C.
Before you order: The DM610 is a single-camera kit. It is not interchangeable with the Chillax DM685/DM688 Giraffe Clip cameras — order the complete DM610 set.

What It Means in Practice
- No Wi-Fi needed: the parent unit and camera talk to each other directly, so the monitor keeps working if your internet or router goes down.
- Sleep trainer: schedule the globe colour to signal sleep time and wake-up time, so an older baby or toddler learns when it is OK to get up.
- Mood light: choose a colour and up to 8 intensity levels; the globe brightness can also be set in 5 steps.
- Placement: the flexible gooseneck lets you aim the camera over the cot from a shelf or chest of drawers, then fine-tune the view with left/right pan from the parent unit.
- Privacy: flip the Wi-Fi switch off and the camera stays a closed local system between camera and parent unit.
What Will Not Work
- No split-screen multi-camera view is published for this kit; plan on one camera per nursery.
- Parent unit runtime per charge is not published; keep it on its adapter overnight.
- The camera needs mains power through its adapter — it has no battery. For a camera that runs on battery, see the DM688 Giraffe Clip Portable.
- The Wi-Fi side uses 2.4 GHz only; 5 GHz-only networks will not work for the app.

Do I have to use the app?
No. The parent unit works on its own. The app is optional and only needed if you want to watch on your phone or share access with family.
What is the sleep trainer for?
It changes the globe colour on a schedule you set, giving a toddler a clear visual cue for sleep time and for when it is OK to get up.
Can grandparents watch too?
Yes — with Wi-Fi on, the ChillaxCare app lets you share camera access with other family members.
