The Cisco RACK-KIT-T1= is the spare rack mount bracket kit for Cisco Catalyst 3650 switches, with brackets for 19-inch, 23-inch, 24-inch and ETSI racks, for installers who need to mount a switch in a rack type other than the standard 19-inch one or have lost the original brackets.
Cisco calls it the 19, 23, 24 inch and ETSI Type 1 rack mount kit. The brackets fix to the sides of the switch and to the front posts of the rack.
Before you order: Catalyst 3650 switches already ship with 19-inch brackets. You need this kit only for 23-inch, 24-inch or ETSI racks, or to replace missing brackets.
What's in the Box
- Rack mount brackets for 19-inch, 23-inch, 24-inch and ETSI racks (Cisco does not publish the exact screw count for the spare kit)
- The switch is not included
What It Means in Practice
- The same switch can be installed in telecom (23-inch/ETSI) racks as well as standard 19-inch racks.
- Brackets attach to the switch with flat-head screws and to the rack posts with machine screws.
- Cisco specifies at least 11.1 cm (4.4 in) of free space behind the rear panel for airflow and cabling.
- It is a 2-post mounting method; the switch is supported at the front only.
What Will Not Work
- It does not provide 4-post support — that needs the Cisco 4PT-KIT-T1= extension rail kit.
- It is not listed for Catalyst 3850 or 9300 — the 3850 uses C3850-RACK-KIT= / C3850-4PT-KIT=.
- It is not a shelf; the switch hangs on its brackets.
