The Cisco ACS-900-RM-19= is the official 19-inch rack-mount kit for the Cisco 900 Series Integrated Services Routers that have an internal power supply — the C921-4P, the C921-4PLTE variants and the C931-4P — so a compact branch router can be fixed in a standard rack or network cabinet.
The 900 Series routers ship as desktop units and Cisco states that rack mounting needs this optional bracket kit, which is not included with the router. The kit consists of two 19-inch brackets, one per side, fixed to the chassis with flat-head screws; Cisco allows the brackets to be fitted towards the front panel or the back panel, so you can choose whether the ports face the front or the rear of the cabinet.
Before you order: Only the internal-power-supply models fit: C921-4P, C921-4PLTE (NA, AS, AU, GB) and C931-4P. Models with an external power brick — C921J-4P, C926 and C927 families — are not supported by this kit; Cisco recommends a rack tray for those.

What It Means in Practice
- The router occupies one rack unit in a 19-inch rack instead of sitting loose on a shelf.
- You can mount it with the ports towards the front or towards the back of the cabinet, depending on where your patching is.
- Cisco recommends leaving 1RU of free space above and below the router for airflow.
- The kit is purely mechanical: no configuration or licence change is needed.
What Will Not Work
- Cisco C921J-4P, C926-4P / C926-4PLTEGB and C927 models — they use an external power supply and are not supported.
- Cisco 1100, 4000 or 8000 Series routers — each has its own mounting kit.
- Under-desk mounting — that is the separate ACS-900-DM= kit.
- Racks without 19-inch rails or a cabinet without free space above and below.
