The Cisco ISA3000 (part number ISA-3000-2C2F-K9, now also called Secure Firewall ISA3000) is a ruggedised industrial firewall for control cabinets, substations, plants and transport sites. It mounts on a DIN rail, runs from dual DC inputs of 9.6 to 60 V, works from −40 to +70 °C with no fan, and carries industrial approvals such as Class I Division 2, ATEX Zone 2, IEC 61850-3 and IEEE 1613. This 2C2F model has two gigabit copper ports with hardware bypass and two gigabit SFP slots for fibre, plus a management port, and ships with Cisco ASA software. In practice it separates the plant or OT network from the office IT network and secures remote access to machines.
Compatibility — check before buying:
No power supply in the box: it runs on DC only. On mains AC you need a DIN-rail supply such as Cisco PWR-IE50W-AC or PWR-IE50W-AC-IEC. No SFP modules are included; for the harsh environment Cisco lists rugged optics such as GLC-SX-MM-RGD= and GLC-LX-SM-RGD=. It ships with ASA; the Threat Defense version is ISA-3000-2C2F-FTD, and Cisco documents reimaging between them. Do not confuse it with the ISA-3000-4C-K9, which has four copper ports and no SFP.
