Cisco Aironet Power Injector — AIR-PWRINJ6=

802.3at30 WGigabitWall-mountable

The Cisco AIR-PWRINJ6= is the Cisco Aironet Power Injector: a single-port midspan that adds IEEE 802.3at power, up to 30 W, to a Gigabit Ethernet link. Cisco’s installation guide applies it to the Aironet 2800 and 3800 Series access points and other models that require 802.3at, and it is also 802.3af compliant. It runs from 100–240 V AC through a C14 inlet, has LEDs for power and powered-device detection, and can be wall-mounted with screw tabs or keyholes. Cisco named it as the replacement for the older AIR-PWRINJ4 and AIR-PWRINJ-30. In practice it powers one access point from a switch port without PoE.

Compatibility — check before buying:
Do not feed it from a switch port that already provides PoE — Cisco’s guide says to disable PoE on the switch port first. It delivers 30 W, which is not enough for newer access points that require 802.3bt or UPOE. Cisco says to use the power cord shipped with the injector but does not publish its plug type for this spare part; ask us if you need a UK cord. Not sure? Tell us your model and we check it for you.
