The Club 3D CAC-1243 is a 3 m analog video cable with a DVI-A male plug on one end and a VGA HD-15 male plug on the other, for connecting a PC or graphics card with a DVI-I (or DVI-A) output to a VGA monitor or projector. The datasheet specifies up to 1600x1200 at 60 Hz, 28 AWG wiring and gold-plated contacts, with no external power needed.
Compatibility Note: This cable only carries the analog part of the DVI signal. It works with DVI-I and DVI-A outputs, not with digital-only DVI-D ports, and it is unidirectional: DVI source to VGA display only.

Check the DVI port on the graphics card: a DVI-I socket has four extra pin holes around the flat blade and carries analog video, so it works. A DVI-D socket has no holes around the blade and is digital only, so it will not work with this cable.
Can I use the Club 3D CAC-1243 to connect a VGA laptop to a DVI monitor?
No. The cable only works in one direction, from a DVI-I or DVI-A output to a VGA input.
