The Club 3D CAC-1115 is a 2-metre cable that takes a Mini DisplayPort output — the socket found on many workstations, Mac systems, professional graphics cards and Thunderbolt-era laptops — and feeds a full-size DisplayPort 1.4 monitor at up to 8K 60Hz or 4K 120Hz. Sold under part number CAC-1115, it is a passive cable rather than a converter: Mini DisplayPort and DisplayPort are the same electrical protocol, so nothing is translated and nothing needs power. Club 3D rates the link at the full HBR3 ceiling of 32.4 Gbps, with Display Stream Compression 1.2, Forward Error Correction and HDR support, and wraps it in a soft Ultra-Flex jacket with a latching DisplayPort plug. Compatibility — check before buying:
The source end is Mini DisplayPort and the display end is full-size DisplayPort — the cable does not work the other way round from a full-size DP source into a Mini DP monitor, and it is not a Thunderbolt data cable even though it fits a Thunderbolt 1 or 2 port on older Mac hardware. Reaching 8K 60Hz or 4K 120Hz requires DSC 1.2 support on both the graphics card and the monitor; Club 3D states explicitly that you should confirm DSC 1.2 is supported on your devices and keep the display firmware and graphics drivers current. The cable is backwards compatible with older DisplayPort standards, so an older Mini DP source will still work, simply at its own lower link rate.

Mini DisplayPort has quietly become a legacy connector on consumer hardware but it is still everywhere in the installed base — older MacBook Pro and iMac systems, Dell and HP mobile workstations, and a great many professional AMD and NVIDIA cards that ship four Mini DP outputs instead of two full-size ones. The trap is that most Mini DP cables on the market are still HBR2-era parts, which cap you at 4K 60Hz no matter what the monitor can do. The CAC-1115 is a current DisplayPort 1.4 cable in a Mini DP shell, so a modern high-resolution panel behind an older Mini DP output is not held back by the cable. Do check the source: a 2013 laptop with a Mini DP socket is still a DisplayPort 1.2 device, and no cable changes that. Your display input is HDMI, DVI or VGA — those need an active converter, not this cable. Also skip it if the source is full-size DisplayPort and the monitor is Mini DisplayPort, because this cable is wired for the opposite direction.
