Compulocks Ledge Lock Slot Adapter · MacBook Air 13 inch M2 / M3 · Silver
MacBook Air 13 inchAdds T-bar slotNo adhesiveLock sold separately
The Compulocks Ledge MBALDG04 is a small silver adapter that adds a standard security slot to the 13 inch MacBook Air (M2 and M3), so IT departments, schools and retail displays can secure a MacBook with an ordinary T-bar cable lock. MacBooks have no lock slot of their own; the Ledge clips onto the edge of the case and creates one, without adhesive or any change to the MacBook body.
This listing is the adapter only. You need a separate T-bar cable lock to actually secure the laptop.
Before you order: Cable lock NOT included. This is the slot adapter only; add a standard T-bar (K-slot) cable lock. Also check your model: it is for the 13 inch MacBook Air M2 (A2681) and M3 (A3113), not the 15 inch Air or any MacBook Pro.
What's in the Box
- 1 x Compulocks Ledge lock slot adapter, silver
- Installation hardware kit
What It Means in Practice
- Creates a 7.2 x 3.1 mm security slot on the MacBook Air edge that accepts standard T-bar cable locks.
- Fits beside the trackpad side of the case; Compulocks states the lid still opens and closes normally.
- No adhesive and no drilling, and Compulocks states it does not void Apple's warranty.
- Weighs only a few grams, so it can stay on the MacBook permanently.
What Will Not Work
- Securing the MacBook on its own: you still need a T-bar cable lock.
- MacBook Air 15 inch (needs the 15 inch Ledge model).
- MacBook Air M1 or older Intel MacBook Air: different case shape.
- MacBook Pro models of any size.
- Nano or wedge-type locks: the Ledge slot is a standard T-bar slot.

Frequently Asked Questions
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
A MacBook has no security slot, so every MacBook lock solution is really two parts: an adapter like the Ledge and a cable lock. Order both together. If the MacBook works at a desk with a monitor, a docking station with its own lock slot can be an alternative anchor point.
✓ Buy it if you have a 13 inch MacBook Air M2 or M3 and want to use a standard cable lock.
✕ Skip it if you have a 15 inch Air, a MacBook Pro or an M1 / Intel Air.
→ Also consider a standard T-bar keyed or combination cable lock to complete the set.
