The Conceptronic EMRICK15B is a 7.1-channel high-definition sound card for a free PCI Express slot in a desktop PC. It plays and records at up to 24-bit / 192 kHz, has six 3.5 mm jacks for line-in, microphone and four analogue output pairs (front, rear surround, centre/bass and side surround), plus an S/PDIF digital output via its digital extension port. ASIO driver support gives low latency for recording and music production, and a low-profile bracket in the box lets it fit slim cases. In practice it replaces tired or noisy onboard audio, adds true 7.1 speaker outputs for games and films, or brings back a missing or failed motherboard audio port.
Compatibility — check before buying:
You need a free PCIe slot (the card is PCIe x1 and also fits longer PCIe slots) in a desktop PC; it is not for laptops. Conceptronic lists Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10 and 11 (32/64-bit) only — macOS and Linux are not listed. Drivers come on a CD; if your PC has no optical drive, the driver is also offered on Conceptronic’s product page. The S/PDIF output is on the card’s digital extension port, and the box lists no S/PDIF bracket or cable — if you need optical or coaxial S/PDIF, ask us before ordering. Chipset and signal-to-noise ratio are not published. Send us your PC model and we check the slot and bracket.
