Conceptronic ABBY23G — USB-C to HDMI 2.1 adapter for 8K 60Hz and 4K 144Hz displays
USB-C → HDMI 2.18K 60Hz4K 144HzPlug & Play
The Conceptronic ABBY23G is a grey aluminium USB-C to HDMI 2.1 adapter with a 15 cm cable that outputs up to 8K at 60Hz or 4K at 144Hz, for laptop, tablet and smartphone users who want to connect a high-resolution TV, monitor or projector without installing drivers.
It is Plug & Play on Windows, macOS and Android: plug the USB-C end into a video-capable port, connect an HDMI cable to your display and the screen appears. The aluminium housing helps dissipate heat during long sessions such as presentations, movie streaming or high-refresh gaming.
Before you order: Your device’s USB-C port must support video output (DisplayPort Alt Mode or Thunderbolt/USB4). Charge-only or data-only USB-C ports will not show a picture, and 8K 60Hz / 4K 144Hz also require a laptop, GPU, HDMI cable and display that support those modes.
What's in the Box
- 1 x Conceptronic ABBY23G USB-C to HDMI 2.1 adapter (15 cm)
- 1 x Multilingual quick installation guide
- No HDMI cable included
What It Means in Practice
- Connect a 4K 144Hz gaming monitor or TV to a recent laptop with one compact adapter.
- No drivers — it works the moment you plug it in.
- Short 15 cm cable keeps it neat in a laptop bag and reduces strain on the USB-C port.
- Use an Ultra High Speed (HDMI 2.1) cable for 8K or 4K 144Hz; older cables may limit you to 4K 60Hz or lower.
What Will Not Work
- USB-C ports without video support (common on budget laptops, some tablets and phones).
- No USB-C power pass-through — you cannot charge the laptop through the adapter.
- It does not add extra monitors beyond what your laptop’s USB-C port supports (no DisplayLink).
- HDMI input to the laptop (capture) is not supported — output only.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will it work with my MacBook?
Yes on MacBooks with USB-C/Thunderbolt ports, as these support video output. The maximum resolution and refresh rate depend on the Mac model.
Do I need a special HDMI cable?
For 8K 60Hz or 4K 144Hz use an Ultra High Speed HDMI 2.1 cable. For 4K 60Hz or 1080p a standard High Speed cable is enough.
Will my phone work?
Only if the phone’s USB-C port supports video output (DisplayPort Alt Mode). Many phones do not — check your model or ask us.
Can I charge my laptop through it?
No. The adapter has no power pass-through port.
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
Most problems with USB-C video adapters come from the source, not the adapter: check that your USB-C port supports DisplayPort Alt Mode and that your cable is HDMI 2.1 for high refresh rates. If you need charging, Ethernet and extra USB ports as well as video, a USB-C
docking station is the better buy.
✓ Buy it if your laptop has a video-capable USB-C port and you want 4K 144Hz or 8K output to a single HDMI display.
✕ Skip it if you need to charge through the adapter, connect several monitors or add ports.
→ Also consider a USB-C docking station with HDMI and power delivery for a full desk setup.
Not sure your laptop or phone outputs video over USB-C? Send us the model and we will check it.
