The Conceptronic KAYNE01PT is a full office keyboard with a smart ID card reader built into it, which is the whole point: one device, one USB cable, and nothing for a user to unplug and lose. The reader handles ISO 7816 Class A, B and C cards (5 V, 3 V and 1.8 V), is USB-CCID and PC/SC 2.0 compliant, and is certified to EMV 4.0 Level 1 and PBOC 2.0 Level 1, with Microsoft WHQL smart card reader approval and compliance with the US FIPS-201 reader interoperability requirements. It also reads common memory cards such as the SLE44xx and AT88SC1608 families. Around the reader is a plain 105-key layout with a numeric pad and a spill-resistant design, 454 × 164 × 56 mm and 639 g, on a 1.5 m USB cable. Compatibility — check before buying:
Layout: Portuguese QWERTY keeps the QWERTY letters but adds Ç next to L, uses dead keys for accents and moves most symbols and brackets away from where a US or UK keyboard has them. Choose it only if you type in Portuguese; for English use in Cyprus ask us for the US or UK version of the same model. The slot takes contact smart cards to ISO 7816 — the standard national ID, banking and corporate access card format. Conceptronic lists no contactless or NFC support, so a tap-only card will not work; if your cards are contactless, tell us and we will supply a separate contactless reader. It is wired USB-A, plug and play, with a 1.5 m cable — a USB-C-only laptop needs an adapter or a dock. There is no backlight and no palm rest. Conceptronic does not publish the key technology (membrane, scissor or otherwise), an operating-system list or a warranty term for this model on its product page. Operating range is 0 to 50 °C at 20–90% relative humidity.
