Conceptronic HUBBIES10B — 4-Port Hub, One USB 3.0 and Three USB 2.0
1 x USB-A 3.0 at 5 Gbps3 x USB-A 2.0 at 480 Mbps90 cm cable5 V DC jack
The Conceptronic HUBBIES10B gives four USB-A ports from a single USB-A plug, but they are deliberately not equal: one runs at the full 5 Gbps and the other three at USB 2.0 speeds. It is built for a desk with one device that moves data and several that do not, on a 90 cm cable long enough to reach from a tower under the desk, with a DC socket for extra current.
Compatibility — check before buying:
Only one of the four ports is fast. Conceptronic publishes one USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 port at 5 Gbps and three USB-A 2.0 ports at 480 Mbps — about ten times slower. Put the drive or the card reader on the fast port and the keyboard, mouse and dongles on the rest. If you need four fast ports, Conceptronic’s HUBBIES02B, 04B and 06B are all 5 Gbps on every socket. The plug is USB-A. There is a 3.5 x 1.35 mm DC jack for extra current and a USB-DC cable is supplied, but no mains adapter. Conceptronic states no Power Delivery, and there is no video output and no Ethernet.
Best For
✓ Desks with one drive and several low-speed devices
✓ Towers under a desk — the 90 cm cable reaches up
✓ Keyboards, mice, wireless receivers and dongles
✓ A card reader or flash drive on the fast port
✓ Positions where extra current may be needed later
✓ Anyone who already owns a suitable 5 V supply
Key Features
One fast port, three ordinary ones
A single USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 socket at 5 Gbps plus three USB 2.0 sockets. Cheaper than an all-5-Gbps hub and perfectly sensible when only one device actually moves data.
A power jack, not just bus power
The DC socket takes extra current when four devices between them ask more than the host port gives. The USB-DC cable is supplied so you can feed it from a spare USB port or a phone charger.
90 cm of reach
Long enough to run from a tower on the floor up to the desktop, or across to the far side of a monitor, without an extension cable.
Compact block
87 x 55 x 15 mm and 89 g. Wider than a stick-shaped hub, which suits a desk where four cables need to fan out rather than stack.

Singular Expert Insight
Mixed-speed hubs get a bad name because buyers expect four fast ports and find one, but the design is honest and often the right economy: most desks have exactly one device that moves data and three that do not. The two things that make this one worth choosing over a cheaper equivalent are the 90 cm cable, which is unusually long for the class, and the DC socket, which means a hub that starts dropping devices can be rescued with an inexpensive supply. Put the external SSD on the fast socket and the flash drives, receivers and dongles on the rest.
Buyer’s Guide
Buy it if
You need four USB-A sockets, only one device actually moves data, and the hub has to reach from a tower up to the desk.
Skip it if
Skip it if you need more than one port at 5 Gbps, if you expected a mains adapter in the box, or if your laptop only has USB-C ports.
Also consider
Conceptronic HUBBIES02B, 04B or 06B for 5 Gbps on all four ports, or HUBBIES08B if seven ports matter more than speed.
