Conceptronic HUBBIES12B — 4-Port USB-C Hub, 2 x USB-C and 2 x USB-A
2 x USB-C + 2 x USB-A5 Gbps SuperSpeedAluminium, 20 g15 cm captive cable
The Conceptronic HUBBIES12B splits the difference that most four-port hubs refuse to: two USB-C ports and two USB-A ports from a single USB-C connector, all at up to 5 Gbps. That makes it the hub for a desk halfway through the changeover — a USB-C drive and an older keyboard both plug in directly. The aluminium body is 24 x 92 x 12 mm and weighs 20 g, on a 15 cm captive lead.
Compatibility — check before buying:
The plug is USB-C, so a computer with only USB-A ports needs a different model. Conceptronic states explicitly that USB Power Delivery is not supported: there is no charging input, so the hub cannot charge your laptop, and on a machine with a single USB-C port you will have to choose between the hub and the charger. It is bus-powered with no external supply, which suits keyboards, mice, dongles, flash drives, card readers and one bus-powered SSD, but not two portable hard drives spinning together. There is no video output, no Ethernet and no card slot. Conceptronic lists Windows XP through 11 and macOS 10.6 or newer.
Best For
✓ USB-C laptops that still use USB-A keyboards, mice and sticks
✓ MacBooks, Chromebooks and thin notebooks
✓ USB-C external SSDs and card readers
✓ Travel — 20 g and 92 mm long, aluminium
✓ Hot desks where the hub moves with the person
✓ Replacing a drawer full of single C-to-A adapters
Key Features
Two of each connector
Most four-port hubs give you four of the same socket. This one splits them two and two, so current USB-C devices and older USB-A ones share the hub without an adapter on either.
5 Gbps on all four ports
USB 3.2 Gen 1 SuperSpeed, backward compatible with USB 2.0 devices. The bandwidth is shared, so one drive at a time reaches the full rate.
Aluminium and 20 g
An aluminium casing rather than plastic, which helps shed the heat four active ports produce, on a body light enough to live permanently in a laptop sleeve.
No drivers, no power brick
Plug and play from Windows XP to 11 and macOS 10.6 upwards, powered entirely from the host port. The box holds the hub and a multilingual quick installation guide, and nothing else is needed.

Singular Expert Insight
Four-port hubs almost always commit you to one connector, which is why this one is worth knowing about: two USB-C and two USB-A means the SSD you bought last year and the keyboard you bought five years ago both plug in without an adapter. Be clear about what it deliberately leaves out — no Power Delivery, no video, no Ethernet. That makes it a good travel hub and a poor desk dock. For flash drives and one external SSD it is exactly right; the moment a monitor, a network socket or laptop charging enters the list, you are looking at a docking station instead.
Buyer’s Guide
Buy it if
You have a USB-C laptop, you own both USB-C and USB-A devices, and you want a 20 g aluminium hub that handles both without adapters.
Skip it if
Skip it if you need to charge the laptop through the hub, if a monitor or Ethernet is required, or if your computer has no USB-C port.
Also consider
A USB-C hub with Power Delivery pass-through if the laptop must charge through it, or a docking station if a screen and a network socket are part of the job.
