Cudy AP3600 — Wi-Fi 7 On The Ceiling, BE3600 Dual Band

BE3600 Wi-Fi 7 — not Wi-Fi 6MLO and 4K-QAMPoE powered over one cableBase model — no injector supplied

The AP3600 is Cudy’s BE3600 ceiling access point and it is Wi-Fi 7, not Wi-Fi 6 — the number in the name refers to the combined dual-band rate, not the generation. What Wi-Fi 7 brings that matters in a busy room is MLO, which lets a client use both bands at once instead of picking one, and 4K-QAM, which packs more data into the same signal when the client is close. It mounts to a ceiling or a wall and takes its power over the network cable. This base part number does not include a PoE injector, so a PoE switch or a separate injector is required.

Compatibility — check before buying:
No PoE injector is included with this part number. The access point needs a PoE switch or an injector bought separately — check what you have before ordering, because the older AP1300_P does include one and the naming does not warn you. Wi-Fi 7 features need Wi-Fi 7 clients: MLO and 4K-QAM only apply to devices that support them, and older phones and laptops will connect at their own generation’s speeds. This is a dual-band model — 2.4 and 5 GHz. There is no 6 GHz band, which is the part of Wi-Fi 7 most often assumed to be present; if 6 GHz is a requirement, tell us and we will find you a tri-band unit. It is an access point, not a router, and connects to an existing network.

Best For

✓ Offices, cafes and shops with many devices at once
✓ Open-plan spaces covered from a ceiling
✓ New installations that should not need replacing soon
✓ Sites that already have a PoE switch
✓ Replacing Wi-Fi 5 access points on the same cabling
✓ Meeting rooms and classrooms

Key Features

Wi-Fi 7, not Wi-Fi 6
BE3600 is the current generation. MLO lets a capable client use 2.4 and 5 GHz simultaneously rather than choosing between them, which steadies the connection as people move around; 4K-QAM raises throughput for clients with a strong signal.

Built for crowded rooms
The gains in Wi-Fi 7 are mostly about many devices sharing the air politely. A meeting room with fifteen laptops and as many phones is where the difference against an older access point is obvious.

One cable to the ceiling
Power and data arrive on the same Ethernet run from a PoE switch, so the mounting point needs no mains socket. Ceiling and wall hardware is supplied.

Centrally managed
Multiple units can be managed together with roaming between them, so a floor or a building presents one network name instead of several.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the AP3600 Wi-Fi 6 or Wi-Fi 7?
Wi-Fi 7. The 3600 is the combined dual-band data rate, not the generation — BE3600 is the Wi-Fi 7 naming, where AX3000 would be Wi-Fi 6. It is easy to misread, so we say it plainly.
Does it have the 6 GHz band?
No. This is a dual-band model on 2.4 and 5 GHz. Wi-Fi 7 is often assumed to mean 6 GHz, but that is a tri-band feature and this unit does not have it. Tell us if you need 6 GHz and we will look for a suitable model.
Do I get a PoE injector with it?
Not with this base part number. It expects to be powered from a PoE switch, or from an injector bought separately. The older AP1300_P does include one — the codes are not consistent, so ask us if you are unsure what your order includes.
Will my current phones and laptops see any benefit?
Partly. Older devices connect at their own generation and get the general benefit of a modern access point handling the room better. MLO and 4K-QAM specifically need Wi-Fi 7 clients, so the full gain arrives as devices are replaced — which is the argument for fitting the newer access point now.
Singular Expert Insight
Two naming traps sit on this product and both cost real money. The first is the generation: BE3600 is Wi-Fi 7, and people read 3600 as a speed grade and assume Wi-Fi 6. The second is 6 GHz, which most buyers associate with Wi-Fi 7 and which this dual-band unit does not have. Neither is a fault — a dual-band Wi-Fi 7 access point is the sensible mainstream choice, since 6 GHz travels poorly through walls and few client devices use it well — but both should be understood before you order. On top of that, no injector is in the box here, unlike the AP1300_P. If you are fitting more than one or two units, a PoE switch is the tidier answer anyway; tell us the count and we will size it. The rest of the range is in our access point section.

Buyer’s Guide

Buy it if

You want the current Wi-Fi generation on a ceiling, for a space with many devices, and PoE is already available or budgeted.

Skip it if

You need the 6 GHz band, or you have no PoE and no plan for it — this model ships without an injector.

Also consider

Cudy AP1300_P for a Wi-Fi 5 ceiling unit that includes its own PoE injector. Cudy AP3000E Wall to put Wi-Fi 6 into a faceplate in every room. Ask us for a PoE switch sized to the number of access points you are fitting.
