Cudy IR02 EU — Industrial 4G Router With Serial Ports and Wide-Voltage Power
4G LTE Cat 4 — 150/50 MbpsDual nano-SIM with automatic failoverRS232 and RS485 plus DI and relay output-40 to 75 °C, 5-36 V DC, IP30
The IR02 is an industrial 4G router rather than an office one, and the difference is in the things around the radio: two nano-SIM slots that fail over to each other, RS232 and RS485 serial ports for equipment that predates Ethernet, a digital input and a relay output, a 5 to 36 volt DC input so it can run off whatever supply the cabinet already has, and a -40 to 75 °C operating range. Cellular is LTE Cat 4 at up to 150 Mbps down, with N150 Wi-Fi on 2.4 GHz for local access. This is the box for a pumping station, a kiosk, a weighbridge, a remote site cabinet or a vehicle — not for an office.
Compatibility — check before buying:
The Ethernet ports are 10/100, not gigabit. Two RJ45 ports, one switchable between WAN and LAN. That is normal for an industrial LTE router where the cellular link is the bottleneck, but it is the wrong choice for a fast local network. Wi-Fi is N150 on 2.4 GHz only — Wi-Fi 4, single stream, no 5 GHz. It is there for a technician’s laptop and light telemetry, not for streaming or a busy office. There is no PoE in either direction. DIN-rail mounting is not published by Cudy for this model, so plan for wall or panel mounting; if the cabinet needs a rail, tell us before you order. The _EU suffix is the European band variant — the same hardware sold for other regions carries different bands, so confirm the model when ordering for a site outside Europe.
Best For
✓ Remote site cabinets, pumping stations and telemetry
✓ Machinery with RS232 or RS485 that must reach a network
✓ Kiosks, ATMs, vending and ticketing
✓ Vehicles and mobile installations on 12 or 24 volts
✓ Backup connectivity where a fixed line can fail
✓ Environments too hot, cold or dusty for an office router
Key Features
Two SIMs, automatic failover
Both nano-SIM slots stay populated and the router switches between them, so a carrier outage or an exhausted data bundle does not take the site offline. WISP mode also lets it fail over to an existing wireless link.
Serial ports for equipment that has none
RS232 and RS485 on the terminal block, plus a digitally isolated input and a relay output. PLCs, meters, sensors and controllers that speak serial get onto the network without a separate gateway.
Runs off whatever power is there
5 to 36 volts DC through a 2-pin connector covers 12 V vehicles, 24 V industrial supplies and everything between. A 12 V adapter is supplied for bench work. Maximum draw is 7 watts, idle 1 watt.
VPN back to your network
WireGuard, OpenVPN, IPSec, ZeroTier, PPTP and L2TP, so a remote site can be reached securely without a public IP address from the carrier.
Built for the environment
-40 to 75 °C operating range, IP30 ingress rating, Level 3 EMC protection and shock and vibration resistance to IEC standards.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I mount it on a DIN rail?
Cudy does not publish DIN-rail mounting for this model, so plan on wall or panel mounting. If your cabinet is built around a rail, tell us what you need before ordering and we will check whether a bracket can be sourced or whether a different model suits better.
Are the Ethernet ports gigabit?
No, they are 10/100 Mbps. With an LTE Cat 4 link topping out at 150 Mbps that is not a bottleneck for internet traffic, but if you need fast local transfers between wired devices, this is not the router for that job.
What does the _EU in the code mean?
It is the European cellular band variant. The same hardware is sold for other regions with a different band set, and a router bought for the wrong region may not register on the local network at all. If the site is outside Europe, tell us where and we will confirm the correct variant.
What are the serial ports for?
RS232 and RS485 let the router talk to equipment that has no network port — PLCs, energy meters, sensors, controllers. Together with the digital input and relay output, it can both read from and switch equipment at the site, which is what turns an LTE router into a remote-site gateway.
Will it run from a vehicle or a 24 V panel?
Yes. The DC input accepts 5 to 36 volts, which covers 12 V vehicle systems and 24 V industrial supplies. A 12 V adapter is included for setting it up on a bench first.
Singular Expert Insight
Industrial routers are bought for their edges, not their headline speed, and the edges here are well chosen: dual SIM failover, serial and I/O on a terminal block, a 5-36 V input and a -40 to 75 °C range. Any one of those is the reason someone buys this instead of a consumer LTE router costing less. Two things to settle before you order. First,
mounting: Cudy does not publish DIN-rail support, so if the panel is rail-based, raise it with us early. Second,
bands: the
_EU suffix matters, and an identical-looking unit sourced for another region can fail to register on a Cyprus network. Also be clear that the
10/100 Ethernet and N150 Wi-Fi are deliberate industrial choices, not a bargain-bin compromise — but they are the wrong choices if you were hoping to use this as a general-purpose office router. Tell us the site, the equipment and the carrier and we will check the fit. The rest of the range is in our
router section.
Buyer’s Guide
Buy it if
You need reliable cellular connectivity at a remote or harsh site, with dual-SIM failover, serial or I/O interfaces, and power from whatever DC supply is available.
Skip it if
You want an office or home router — the 10/100 ports and N150 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi will disappoint; or you need DIN-rail mounting, which is not published for this model.

Cudy IR04 for the same industrial platform with N300 Wi-Fi. Cudy LT500 or LT700 for a normal home or office 4G router with dual-band AC1200 Wi-Fi. Ask us about external antennas if the site has weak signal.
