The Dell 280W USB-C GaN AC Adapter, Dell part F6R3T, delivers up to 280 watts through a single USB Type-C connector — enough to run and charge Dell’s largest mobile workstations without a proprietary barrel plug. Gallium nitride switching is what keeps a 280 W supply down to 163 x 79 x 23 mm and around 700 g rather than the brick that wattage would have required a few years ago. It supports seven fixed voltage profiles from 48 V down to 5 V plus a 12 to 48 V programmable range, so it steps down cleanly for smaller USB-C devices as well. Input is universal, 100 to 120 V and 200 to 240 V at 50/60 Hz.
Compatibility — check before buying:
Dell lists this adapter for the Dell Pro Max 16 Plus MB16250, the Dell Pro Max 18 Plus MB18250 and the Dell Pro Max with GB10 FCM1253. If your machine is not on that list, tell us the model and we will check before you order — a 280 W adapter is not something to buy on a guess. Two things about the cables. The USB-C output lead is captive, permanently attached to the brick, so it cannot be replaced or lengthened; Dell does not publish its length. The AC mains cord is detachable through a standard IEC inlet, which is why Dell sells region-specific versions of this adapter. Confirm with us that the unit you receive ships with a European cord rather than a North American one. Dell publishes no efficiency rating for it, and no key explaining what the E5 in its own naming means, so we will not invent one.

Dell names three machines for it, and while the adapter will safely serve lower-power USB-C devices thanks to its step-down profiles, buying one of these for a generic laptop is overkill and an unnecessary expense. Two practical points that a spec sheet does not make obvious. The USB-C output lead is captive: if it fails, the adapter is finished, so treat it accordingly in a bag. And Dell publishes noticeably little about this product — no efficiency rating, no cable length, and no warranty term on any Dell-owned page we could find, which is why the warranty row on this page says what it says rather than quoting a number we cannot stand behind.
