Alienware 18 Backpack AW7825P — 28 L for Laptops up to 18"
Fits Laptops up to 18"28 L · 1.32 kg600D Oxford, Weather Resistant3-Year Dell Limited Warranty
The Alienware 18 Backpack AW7825P is a 28 litre gaming backpack built around a problem most bags do not solve: an 18 inch laptop. Dell publishes a maximum device size of 410 x 320 x 30 mm, which is the figure that matters when the machine is a full-size gaming notebook rather than a thin ultrabook. The pack measures 500 x 360 x 240 mm and weighs about 1.32 kg. It is made from 600D Oxford fabric with a polyurethane coating on the bottom and sides, an XPE foam laptop sleeve and TPU zipper pulls, and Dell rates it water resistant and weather resistant. Alongside the laptop compartment are a tablet compartment, a front pocket and two side pockets, with a shoulder strap, a top handle and a trolley strap for sliding it over a suitcase. Dell covers it with a three-year limited warranty.
Compatibility — check before buying:
Check the millimetres, not the inches. Dell publishes a maximum device size of 410 x 320 x 30 mm. On gaming laptops that is the number to measure against, because an 18 inch machine with a thick cooling stack and a large footprint can exceed a nominal 18 inch fit. If your laptop is close to those figures, measure before ordering.
Do not believe every feature you see listed against this part. Several marketplace listings for the AW7825P claim an RFID-safe pocket, magnetic pocket organisers and 3D breathable mesh. None of these appears on Dell’s own product pages, so we do not repeat them. Others import specifications from Alienware’s older Horizon bag line — 840D fabric, TSA-friendly layout and so on. Horizon is a different product family with a different design language; this pack is 600D Oxford and Dell makes no TSA claim for it.
On sustainability: Dell’s specification table lists recycled content against the 600D Oxford fabric and a “100% plastic” entry, but this is a materials-declaration field rather than a marketing claim, and no recycled percentage is published. We therefore make no recycled-content claim for this bag.
On weather: Dell states water resistant and weather resistant. No rating or test standard is published and no rain cover is included, so treat it as protection against a shower rather than sustained rain.
Best For
✓ Carrying a genuine 18 inch gaming laptop, which most backpacks simply will not take
✓ Students and professionals moving a large machine plus a charger and peripherals daily
✓ LAN events and travel where the pack slides onto a suitcase handle via the trolley strap
✓ Anyone who wants Alienware’s own accessory rather than a generic large backpack
✓ Buyers who value a three-year manufacturer warranty on a bag
Key Features
Sized for an 18 inch machine
This is the whole point. Dell publishes the usable clearance as 410 x 320 x 30 mm, which accommodates a full-size 18 inch gaming laptop rather than a slim 17 inch one. Very few backpacks in general circulation actually fit this class of machine, and fewer still publish the clearance rather than just an inch figure.
28 litres, arranged
Alongside the laptop compartment there is a tablet compartment, a front pocket and two side pockets. Twenty-eight litres is enough for the machine, a large power brick, a mouse, a headset and a change of clothes for an overnight.
600D Oxford with a coated base
The shell is 600D Oxford fabric with a polyurethane coating on the bottom and sides — the surfaces that meet wet pavement and the boot of a car. The laptop sleeve uses cross-linked polyethylene foam, and the zipper pulls are TPU. Dell rates the bag water resistant and weather resistant.
Trolley strap and multiple carries
A trolley strap slides the pack over the telescopic handle of a suitcase, which is what you want when the bag holds three kilos of laptop. There is also a shoulder strap and a top handle for short carries.
Three-year limited warranty
Dell covers this backpack for three years. That is materially longer than the one or two years most laptop bags carry, and on a bag expected to move a heavy machine daily it is the specification most likely to be tested.
Alienware identity
The pack carries a 3D iridescent reflective Alienware logo. If you are buying an Alienware machine and want the accessory to match it rather than look like a generic black rucksack, that is the reason this exists.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will my 18 inch laptop actually fit?
Dell publishes a maximum device size of 410 x 320 x 30 mm. Measure your machine against those figures rather than relying on the screen size — an 18 inch gaming laptop with a deep cooling stack can be larger than the nominal class suggests.
Does it have an RFID pocket?
Not according to Dell. Several marketplace listings claim an RFID-safe pocket, magnetic pocket organisers and 3D breathable mesh for this part number, but none of those features appears on Dell’s own pages, so we do not claim them.
Is this the same as the Alienware Horizon backpack?
No. Horizon is a separate, older Alienware bag line with its own materials and design, and its specifications — 840D fabric, TSA-friendly layout — are regularly copied onto AW7825P listings in error. This pack is 600D Oxford.
Is there a smaller version?
Yes. Alienware’s current backpack line is exactly two models: the AW5625P for 16 inch machines and this AW7825P for 18 inch.
Is it waterproof?
No. Dell describes it as water resistant and weather resistant but publishes no rating or test standard, and no rain cover is included. Treat it as protection against a shower rather than sustained rain.
Is it made from recycled material?
Dell’s specification table includes recycled content entries against the fabric, but these are materials-declaration fields rather than a published sustainability claim, and no percentage is given. We therefore make no recycled-content claim for this bag.
What warranty applies?
Dell publishes a three-year limited warranty. Our store warranty is one year, and both sit alongside your statutory rights.
Singular Expert Insight
There is a small category of laptop that backpacks quietly refuse to accommodate, and 18 inch gaming machines are it. Manufacturers advertise a 17.3 inch fit and stop there, because beyond that the pack has to get taller and wider than most people want to wear. The AW7825P exists specifically for that gap, and Dell does the useful thing of publishing the actual clearance — 410 x 320 x 30 mm — rather than an inch figure you have to trust. If you own an 18 inch machine, that number is the reason to read further.
Everything else about the pack is sensibly ordinary. Twenty-eight litres, 600D Oxford, a coated base and sides where a bag actually gets wet, XPE foam around the laptop, a tablet pocket, a front pocket, two side pockets. A trolley strap, which matters more than it sounds: an 18 inch gaming laptop and its power brick can be three kilos before you add anything else, and being able to park that weight on a suitcase handle in an airport is worth more than an extra organiser panel. It weighs 1.32 kg empty, which is reasonable for the size.
The thing to be careful about is the listing data circulating for this part. We found marketplace entries claiming an RFID-safe pocket, magnetic organisers and 3D breathable mesh, none of which Dell publishes, and others that have simply imported the specification of Alienware’s older Horizon bag line — 840D fabric, TSA-friendly design. Horizon is a different family. If a feature matters to your decision, check it is on Dell’s own page, which is what we have done here.
Two honest limitations. Dell says water resistant and weather resistant but publishes no rating and includes no rain cover, so it is a shower bag rather than a downpour bag. And while Dell’s materials table contains recycled-content entries, there is no published percentage and no sustainability claim attached, so we make none.
The three-year limited warranty is the quiet standout. Most laptop bags carry one or two years. On a pack that will be loaded to its limit and carried daily, and where the failure will be a zip or a strap rather than the fabric, a third year is a real commitment rather than a marketing line.
Buyer’s Guide
Buy it if
Buy the AW7825P if you carry an 18 inch gaming laptop and have found that ordinary backpacks will not take it. Measure your machine against 410 x 320 x 30 mm first. If it is a 16 inch, the AW5625P is the correct model and will be a better fit. Do not buy it expecting RFID protection or a waterproof rating — Dell claims neither.
Skip it if
Your laptop exceeds 410 x 320 x 30 mm, or you want a 16 inch pack — Alienware makes the AW5625P for that. Also skip it if you need a published RFID pocket, a waterproof rating, or a rain cover, none of which Dell claims for this model.
Also consider
Alienware’s AW5625P is the 16 inch model in the same current backpack line. Note that the older Alienware Horizon bags — Travel, Utility and Slim — are a separate family with different materials; do not treat their specifications as applying here.
