The Delock 62595 is a USB 2.0 Type-A to RJ45 network adapter for 10/100 Mbps LAN, with an 11 cm cable and the Realtek RTL8152 chipset. It plugs into a USB-A port and gives a laptop, ultrabook, tablet or desktop PC a wired Fast Ethernet (10/100 Mbps) connection through one RJ45 socket. Driver installation runs automatically as soon as it is connected, and Auto MDI-X recognises standard and crossover cables by itself. Delock lists Windows 7 to 11 and macOS 10.10 and later. A cable connection is the practical answer when Wi-Fi is weak or crowded, when a laptop has no network port, when the built-in port has failed, or when a PC needs a second network interface.

Compatibility — check before buying: USB-A plug: laptops with only USB-C ports need a USB-C to USB-A adapter, or the USB-C version of this adapter. Fast Ethernet only: the maximum is 100 Mbps. That is enough for internet up to 100 Mbit/s, printers and remote desktops, but not for fibre broadband above 100 Mbit/s or large file copies — for those choose a Gigabit USB 3.0 adapter.
