The DIGITUS DN-81200-01 is a 10 Gbit SFP+ transceiver for multimode fibre, reaching up to 300 m at 850 nm over a duplex LC connection, with digital diagnostics. It is the HP-coded version of DIGITUS’ 10G SR module, made for HP and HP Aruba switches that check the coding of the optics they accept. In practice, multimode optics are the cheaper choice for links inside one building: most server rooms and floor risers already carry OM3 or OM4 fibre, and the module plus a short patch cord is all a port needs. Before you order, check the fibre grade printed on the cable jacket and the real length of the run, including patch panels.

Compatibility — check before buying:
This is the HP-coded version. For Cisco, Ubiquiti and other switches that accept generic MSA optics, DIGITUS sells the DN-81200. It needs multimode fibre; DIGITUS gives 300 m without naming the OM grade, so check older fibre with us. Keep the dust cap on until you connect the fibre, and clean both connector ends before every mating — dirt is the most common cause of a link that will not come up. Not sure? Same 10G SR optics. The -01 is coded for HP and HP Aruba switches; the DN-81200 is the generic MSA version for other brands.
How far will it reach?
DIGITUS publishes up to 300 m on multimode fibre without splitting by OM grade. On older OM1 or OM2 fibre the reach is shorter — send us the fibre type and length.
Are fibre patch cords included?
No. You get 1 module. The patch cord for the Duplex LC connector, a matching module for the far end of the link and a fibre cleaning tool are bought separately. Tell us the distance and the fibre type and we quote the right cord.
Will it work in a switch from another brand?
DIGITUS codes this module for HP and HP Aruba switches. In other brands’ switches it may be rejected — for those DIGITUS sells the generic MSA version. Send us the switch model and we check it.
