The DIGITUS AK-300600-150-S combines a USB-A Gigabit Ethernet adapter and a 15 metre Cat6A S/FTP network cable in one integrated solution. It connects a USB-A-equipped laptop or computer directly to a wired RJ45 network at speeds of 10, 100 or 1000 Mbps, without requiring a separate Ethernet adapter or external power supply. The cable uses an LSZH jacket and the adapter housing is aluminium.
Compatibility — check before buying:
This model connects from a USB-A host port directly to an RJ45 network connection. It is not a passive USB-to-RJ45 wiring adapter; the integrated RTL8153E network controller provides the Ethernet interface. DIGITUS lists compatibility with Windows 7 or later, macOS 12 or later, ChromeOS 116.0.5845.120 or later and Linux 22.04 LTS or later.

The AK-300600-150-S solves a slightly unusual installation problem: the computer and the network outlet can be up to 15 metres apart, but the computer may not have an RJ45 port. Instead of combining a separate USB network adapter with another Ethernet patch cable, DIGITUS integrates the RTL8153E adapter directly into one end of a long Cat6A S/FTP cable. That reduces the number of separate connections and gives you one plug at the computer and one RJ45 plug at the network side.
