Digitus SC-SC OS2 Simplex Fibre Patch Cable — 1 m
OS2 SinglemodeSC/APC – SC/APC1 mLSZH 3 mm
The Digitus DK-2922A-01-SCA-SX is a 1 m simplex fibre optic patch cable with SC/APC and SC/APC connectors on OS2 singlemode fibre (9/125 µm, G.657.A2), for connecting singlemode transceivers, ONTs, splitters and patch panels in racks, offices and server rooms.
OS2 is 9/125 µm singlemode fibre, the type used for long-reach optics (LX/LR/ER), campus and building backbones, FTTH and carrier hand-offs. The yellow jacket follows the singlemode colour convention. The G.657.A2 fibre is bend-optimised, so it tolerates tighter routing in cabinets and trunking than standard G.652.D fibre.
The steel-armoured construction protects the fibre against crushing, bending and rodent damage, while the cable stays light and flexible enough to route like a normal patch cord.
Before you order: This cable is APC (angled polish, normally green connectors) on both ends. APC only mates with APC: it will not connect correctly to a UPC port, adapter or patch panel (normally blue). Check the ports on your ONT, splitter or panel before you order.
What's in the Box
- 1 × Digitus DK-2922A-01-SCA-SX simplex fibre patch cable, SC/APC – SC/APC, 1 m
What It Means in Practice
- 1 m is a short jumper: switch to patch panel in the same rack, transceiver to a nearby panel, or port to port in adjacent units.
- Simplex means a single fibre. Typical uses are BiDi transceivers (one fibre, two wavelengths), FTTH/GPON drops and splitters, and patching single fibres on a panel. A standard duplex SFP needs two simplex cables or a duplex cable.
- LSZH jacket, 3 mm outer diameter, white: halogen-free, the usual requirement for cabling inside offices, public buildings and data rooms.
What Will Not Work
- It is singlemode only: it will not work with SR/SX multimode transceivers.
- Both ends are SC. Most SFP/SFP+ transceivers use LC, so this cable is for SC panels, media converters and SC-equipped devices, not for plugging straight into an LC transceiver.
- One simplex cable will not bring up a standard duplex SFP link, which needs two fibres.
- It is not a copper cable: it does not connect to RJ45 ports or copper (RJ45) SFP modules.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will it work with my SFP/SFP+ transceiver?
Yes if the transceiver is singlemode (LX, LR, ER or BiDi for simplex) and has the matching port. Multimode SR/SX optics need a multimode cable.
Why APC and simplex?
APC connectors are standard on FTTH/GPON equipment, splitters and many video/RF-over-fibre links because the angled end-face reflects less light back into the line. Simplex single-fibre cables are what these systems and BiDi optics use.
Can I join two cables to make a longer run?
Yes, with a matching SC coupler, but every mated pair adds loss. For a permanent longer link it is better to order the right length in one piece; ask us and we will check which lengths of this series we can supply.
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
Most fibre problems we see come from three mismatches: multimode vs singlemode, UPC vs APC, and LC vs SC. This Digitus cable is OS2 singlemode, APC SC-SC, so match it to your optics and panel first. If you are building the link from scratch, pick the transceivers and
switches with SFP ports first, then choose the cable that matches them.
✓ Buy it if your equipment uses OS2 singlemode fibre with SC/APC and SC/APC ports and 1 m covers the distance.
✕ Skip it if your transceivers are multimode (SR/SX), or your ports are UPC.
→ Also consider the same cable in other lengths, or an LC-SC hybrid version if your ports differ; matching SFP/SFP+ transceivers.
Not sure which cable you need? Send us the model of your switch, transceiver or panel and we will check connectors and fibre type before you order.
