DIGITUS DS-12874 2-Port HDMI 2.0 KVM Switch

HDMI 2.0 · 4K 60Hz 4:4:4HDR · HDCP 2.22x USB 3.0 frontIR remote

The DIGITUS DS-12874 is a 2-port HDMI 2.0 KVM switch that lets two computers share one 4K monitor, a USB keyboard and mouse, audio and two fast USB 3.0 ports, with up to 4096 x 2160 at 60 Hz in full 4:4:4 colour. Part number DS-12874 supports HDR and HDCP 2.2, and comes with an IR remote plus the HDMI and USB 3.0 cables for both computers.

Compatibility note: The keyboard and mouse must go into the rear USB 2.0 ports; the two front USB 3.0 ports are for storage, webcams and other devices. A 5 V / 3 A power adapter is required (included). DIGITUS lists front-button and IR-remote switching; keyboard hotkeys are not published for this model.

Key Features

True 4K60 with HDR
HDMI 2.0 at 18 Gbps carries 4096 x 2160 at 60 Hz, 4:4:4 and 36-bit colour, so text stays sharp and HDR video passes through.

USB 3.0 hub for both PCs
Each computer connects over USB-B 3.0, and the two front USB-A 3.0 ports share fast drives, card readers or webcams with whichever computer is active.

Remote and mounting options
Switch with the front button or the IR remote and its external receiver; the metal case comes with brackets for under-desk or wall mounting.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can the DIGITUS DS-12874 switch a MacBook and a Windows PC?
Yes. Connect each machine via HDMI (or a USB-C to HDMI 2.0 adapter for 4K60 on a MacBook) and a USB-B 3.0 cable; switching uses the front button or IR remote, so it does not depend on OS-specific hotkeys.
Can I use an external SSD through the DS-12874 at USB 3.0 speed?
Yes. Plug it into one of the two front USB 3.0 ports; it follows the active computer, which is connected through the included USB 3.0 A-to-B cable.
What is the difference between the DS-12874 and the DS-12850?
Both share the same metal body, USB 3.0 hub and IR remote. The DS-12874 takes HDMI inputs, while the DS-12850 takes DisplayPort 1.2 inputs and offers both DP and HDMI outputs.
Singular Expert Insight
The DS-12874 is our pick for a hybrid desk where a work laptop and a home PC share one 4K monitor at full 60 Hz, and a USB 3.0 drive or webcam needs to follow the active machine. The IR remote is handy when the switch sits under the desk; for 4-port or DisplayPort setups see our KVM switch range.
✓ Buy it if you need clean HDMI 2.0 4K60 switching with a fast USB 3.0 hub and cables in the box.
✕ Skip it if you rely on keyboard hotkeys or need two monitors per computer.
→ Also consider the DIGITUS DS-12850 for DisplayPort sources, or the budget Techly IDATA-KVM-HDMI2U for 4K30.
